That actually sounds pretty awesome for a HS job.
The sea cumber plant sucked. They bring in tubs full of these things. You stand all day at this station pulling them out one by one, you cut off the head, split them down the middle, fillet the meat from the skin, then throw the meat in another tub and skin (it’s really thick) in another tub. Then you do it all over again.
The salmon cannery was better. In addition to better pay, all I had to do was watch this machine that put the label wrapper around cans of salmon coming down the line. Every so often I’d have to put more labels in a hopper. The cannery only operated during the summer and pay was, for that time, astronomically good. This was 1986 and there I was 16 years old making like $12 an hour. The workers were a mix of Mexicans, Filipinos, college students, and some local teenagers like me. The Mexicans and Filipinos would make enough in a season to live on back home the rest of the year. Same for college kids. They all came in at the start of the season and would leave to go back home once the season ended.
ETA:
If your mom cooked salmon patties for the family in 1986-87, there’s a good chance I helped put the label on that can of salmon. I don’t know if it’s true, but we were told Wards Cove was the largest salmon cannery operating in the world at that time.

2 months. Got laid off during a bad time and took the quickest job I could find. A milling company that was desperate for a controller. Took the job and after meeting the owners (husband and wife) and witnessing on camera their daughter (who worked in accounts receivable) breaking into our secretary’s office window after attempting to knock the security camera down with a broom, I went straight to Glassdoor.
Best part, the daughter said she broke into secretary’s office to see if she was talking shite about her on teams. Damn shame too bc the company had serious potential but the family was corrupt and rotten to the core. Will always hold them back unless they sell. They won’t.

About 4 hours.
They had me watch some training videos then I was sitting at my desk. No one was around, so I just walked directly to my truck and went home.

One day. The local Sonic. Manager didn't tell me until after I started my first shift that using roller skates was a requirement. I can't roller skate, but I tried. After nearly dropping a half-dozen trays of food, I just put my shoes back on and left.

5 months for a utility company. I had been laid off during Covid for 6 months and was ready to get back to work with whoever would take me for the salary I needed.
They saved my arse; the insurance got me on meds I badly needed and allowed me to keep the house we had been building. My boss was also a big LSU guy and really cool.
But it was remote and they wanted me to move to Ellick in the coming months. No thanks. Found a local job.

Cuco's in Houma back in 98. I had been there only a few days. My wife was pregnant at the time. Found out she was going be induced on a certain day right before a major holiday and asked for the day off. Manager made the schedule and I wasn't given off - he had others who had been there longer had requested off and he gave it to them instead. So, I walked out that night and never went back. Crazy thing is, my buddy who also worked there said there were multiple people there who couldn't believe I'd quit over something like that, and he said I made him look bad because he was the one who got me the job.

Real jobs post college it was 2 years or so. In high school I worked at a job for one day once
Worked at the kmart in Lafayette i believe off of Ambassdor C. while in College there. I worked the overnight shift . Was finishing up my 2nd night stocking shelves and it was close to ending my shift .In comes the day shift with all the blue shirts(mangers) etc... I was tired and ready to go home had like 10 minutes left on shift. Some young manger , probably younger than me at the time says i need you to go like 12 aisle down and front an item . It basically means pull to the front of the shelf. I told him aint happening. Maybe it was wrong to say but i had busted my butt all night and was basically done for the day. We ended up getting into it and i told him to enjoy his life at kmart and walked out. Two days on the job . The kmart closed about a year later. i thought of him when it happened .

One hour. After editing a sportswriter's story and finding 82 errors, I decided it wasn't a very professional organization.

I had the misfortune of touring a telemarketing firm that was a subcontractor that worked for my company. There was a room in the HR department that had a bunch of people sitting in chairs waiting to fill the spots from people that would quit in the middle of the day. People would go to HR, get cleared to work and wait for an opening that was most definitely going to happen several times throughout the day. I knew the environment for those workers wasn't good but that was awful to see.

Summer before my college soph year. Started an internship with the Supply Purchasing & Demand dept within a hospital. Was given a box cutter at 8am saying my job for the next month is to remove all labels from metal shelves in advance of fiscal turnover July 1. I ate lunch at the hospital cafeteria around 11am and with a full stomach, I proceeded to walk out the doors for good and never returned.
So basically 3 hours to 4 hours myself as well.

College job at a restaurant in mid 90’s called Jack Sprats in BR. My roommate worked there a few months but I only lasted one day.
Owner and wife were pretty crazy.

A little over 2 yrs. Small consulting firm got bought out by big firm, to get the premium stock buyout for small firm shares had to stay 2 yrs. Wasn't a good fit w big firm, of the 100 employees, 90+ left after 2 yrs. Big multinational that bought us out only cared about return to shareholders...

7 months for me.
I got hired with a girl once who went through orientation then worked one day, called in sick the next day, and quit.
Was crazy because it was a fairly good job with a pretty in depth hiring process.

I once worked as an assistant manager at a Domino's for 2 days. I had zero training those 2 days, and the manager wanted me to run the store for her in 2 weeks while she went to a convention in Vegas. After day 2, I said eff it. I was only going to work there for a few months. So it was cool.

6 hours
In college, i applied for one of those "make $15/hr" part-time jobs they used to advertise in the Reveille. Show up to this office off Florida, and i get there, there are about 8 of us college kids and another 10 or so "salesmen" getting hyped up for the day. "Boss" of the company is giving this speech before everyone heads out and the employees are all high fiving and yelling. Me and 2 other college kids were assigned to "shadow" 2 employees. We basically, were knocking on doors to businesses asking if they wanted to buy cheap shite. I remember one item was this really cheap calendar. And we were going to businesses trying to sell that. After about 3 hours they hand me the calendar and tell me to go sell. I walk in, and this nice older secretary is there. I basically tell her, "these guys want me to sell you this calendar. I understand if you don't want it." She told me thanks, and i walked out. The 2 "work bros" asking me, "what happened, she didn't buy it?" I told them no one wants to buy this cheap shite. When we made it back to the office for a break before we went out again. As the group was heading out the door again i told them, i quit. I can't do this kind of work.
That 1 day in college told me i could never be in sales.
