Been years ago but I was out of work. Went to work at at a warehouse trained for two weeks and quit the first day of actual work The supervisor cussed at me for bumping into a rack on a forklift I let it pass. About an hour later same thing happened again he cussed me worse. I got pissed , told him I was gonna kick his arse ,then he ran after I chased him into the office and he locked the door. I got a lot of high fives walking apparently a lot of the employees wanted to do that. One of the suits came to the parking lot and said I can’t believe we paid you for two weeks to train and you pull this shite your first day. I told him he needs to train his managers better. He said get off our property .. I laughed and left

One day. I was a senior in high school and my mom knew the owner of a tiny arse grocery store in the middle of nowhere. He was looking for help and my mom said I would be interested. I didn't have a car so she would bring me during her lunch break when I got out of school at 11:30(half day). I was supposed to work in the store stocking shelves and cleaning from noon to 8pm. The pay was $25/day cash which was already illegal but I needed the money and figured it wouldn't be hard work.

I get there and he tells me that I'm going to be cutting bait for their crawfish business they run on the side instead of working in thr store. It's January and like 35 degrees and I'm cutting fish outside with only a windbreaker on. I was supposed to cut 2-3 buckets per hour. I only cut 3 the whole time. Never had a break. The owners wife brought me a pair of gloves from the store and the light above me fell and broke.

I got chewed out for not cutting enough and was told to go inside and wash up. I got paid $16. They deducted the gloves and the light that broke and before I left, he told me to bring in the three buckets I cut.

I went outside and kicked over all three buckets and never went back.

If "teen" jobs count, I lasted about five hours at some shite job selling a shitty newspaper nobody wanted door to door in Rhode Island. I made less than $2 for five hours of pavement beating. Bright spot (and what should have been worrying for my parents) was the ride back in the panel van with five or six other 12-14 year olds with massive subs blasting "Seek and Destroy,"

Non teen job, I helped open a 3 Potato 4 off of College and Perkins. I'm not from the South, but I had to explain why their etouffee recipe in the spuds wasn't going to work in BR. Then I had to explain to one of the people that worked with me what "FICA" was. I think that lasted a paycheck and a half.

One 4 hour shift at a clothing store.

Came down with a fever through the shift and left 30 mins early per the manager.

Owner called me in next day and let me go.

Forgot to mention the first hour of the shift they had me model some clothes for the website. I told him he didn't have permission to use anything and he got pissed. So weird.

Next pay day rolls around and I get a check for two months salary.

I literally race other employees to the bank down the road. I am one of several in line trying to cash pay checks at the company's bank.

3 weeks. When I was a senior in high school, I got a job at a Custom Van conversion shop. Look it up if your young. I was basically a gopher but did some install work. I showed up on a Saturday and there was 10 cop cars in the parking lot. I walked in and two cops stopped me and asked me what I wanted. I told them I worked there. They said, "not any more". Go home

Ends up, the guy was selling drugs, cocaine, and using the van shop as a cover and way to get the drugs back and forth

Was 1 of 3 hired as a painter’s helper at a plant in the summer between college semesters. 3 days later a truck with 3 brand new golf carts drove up. We were all laid off the next day.

My old man used to tell me he worked at a place called Hinks Turkey farm for 15 minutes. They were plucking the birds. Said he really worked for 8 and spent the rest of the time trying to find the guy to tell him he was quitting.
