3 months. It was the greatest 3 months of my life. Felt like freedom.
To each their own, but how some people would prefer to never retire and keep working when they could retire is beyond me.

Since I was 16, I’ve never taken more than 10 days off which happened once when I was between jobs.

Sold business and officially retired from corporate at the age of 42. Do a lot of volunteer work and travel now.

I've always had a job and never been out of work. (knock on wood) Probably took off a week when I went on my honeymoon 30 yrs ago. Never had a major surgery and rarely sick, as I may take 2-4 consecutive days off per year for a vacation or hunting trip.

Mine was 2 months. When I moved back from florida to st.louis.
Was waiting for a job to open up. Guy took another month to finally retire.
By month 1, u was staying up till 330am, sleeping till 1200-130 pm. And it was tough to get out of it. That first week back to work kicked my arse, but got me back on human schedule, from shite numb schedule

10 days
Saints road trip/beach vacation with wife and then she flew home and I flew to a destination bachelor party. Should have taken another week off just to recover.

I took 6 weeks off for paternity leave. Technically, I only took 2 weeks off because I was working 14/14 at the time.

Been working for over 30 years. Never was unemployed since getting out of school, and always rolled right into another job after leaving the last one. Maybe a few days gap. Never had to take off for any medical reason, and paternity leave was not a thing 20 years ago. As for vacations, longest I've taken off at one time is two weeks. That was a bit long to be out of the office, so generally do a week to ten days at any one time. I do end up taking off about 4 weeks a year, on average.

Around 8-9 months worth of being unemployed while actively looking for jobs. Granted, I was still working gig work and side hustles.

I gave advice on that.
As for the original question, maybe 2 weeks.
I've been basically retired for a few years now.

Im 50 and I haven't worked in 5 years.
I do stay busy in my woodshop with all of my tools building furniture, cabinets and other projects.
I also stay busy on my farm doing daily tasks and I fish 3 times a week.
Its a hard life, but I manage.

About 20 months. This was 20 years ago. I had a divorce so I figured it would be a great time to travel with no responsibilities. I lived in Mexico and South America and fished, chased girls and fine tuned my Spanish.
I have many great memories from that time. Honestly, it was one of the best things I did and looking back I should have taken another six months or so. It got me off of the treadmill most of us find ourselves on.

Yeah but i'm going to end atleast 5 other people's job if I abruptly quit. I guess I feel bad about looking out for other people even though the company is not doing good
