Apparently they've had a lot of quakes recently. Super volcano about to go boom or fake news?

If it goes boom and you live west of the Mississippi, you'd never know anyway.

they always have a lot of quakes

quote:

Yellowstone is one of the most seismically active areas in the U.S., experiencing 1,000 to 3,000 earthquakes a year — with 40 to 50 percent of them happening in swarms. The quake activity is caused by the large number of faults in the park associated with the volcano that underlies Yellowstone.

According to the National Park Service, the largest swarm happened in 1985, when more than 3,000 quakes were recorded in a three-month period in the northwestern portion of the park.

Not worth worrying about. They always have a lot of earthquakes, and if it erupts, you're fricked regardless.

If it does go boom there really isn't much you can do about it, so quit worrying and watch porn instead.

I read an article on the Yellowstone quakes/ volcanos, and it said that the numerous small quakes are seen as a good thing because pressure and movement is being released a little at a time. If the swarms of small quakes stopped, the pressure and movement would build up and it would cause the big one.

West coast seems relatively ok. Half of the Midwest fricked.
