Both sides of the political paradigm no longer wanting what's best for the country, but just wanting to frick over the other side even if it comes to the detriment of their own side.

Because children are raised by daycare workers and a TV set. Mothers used to raise their children and teach them to be compassionate, respectful, and moral.

Boomers. First generation to be so self centered they destroyed the family unit by caring more about themselves than their children. Divorce rates skyrocketed. Hard to be a society in which the nuclear family structure means less than “finding themselves.”

They created participants trophies, made the national debt soar, took over this country from the greatest generation and ruined it.

Narcissism......

People have replaced God with a worship of self.

These threads are fascinating. So many differing points of view. They can be bucketed into a few general themes but it’s intriguing what posters believe are the drivers to society.

Society hasn’t gone to shite. However it’s been argued that those that want to destroy America want everyone to believe that. They want us to insulate into small groups and forsake everything outside of our small identity group. Divide and conquer.

China stealing our industries and intellectual property, buying off our politicians, and controlling our media (from Hollywood to cable news to social).

20+ years ago I remember hearing China was our biggest enemy. Amazing how they pulled it off while distracting us with cheap shiny knick knacks and keeping us divided with anti-American propaganda.

They have convinced half this country that chopping off your 10 year old sons penis is normal and that "climate change" is the greatest threat to this planet.

Well done Chinamen, well done.

Cable news.

Everything is *BREAKING NEWS!!!” now and we have to hear a panel discuss it all day.
When I was growing up the same stories were 2 minute segments on the 5:30 news, and then we shrugged and went back to watching Dallas afterwards. I’m not exaggerating in the least.

+ social media and nutjob radio talk shows, but you knew that already.

The government schools stopped teaching right vs wrong and morals and started preaching victimhood. Never send your kid to public school and NO there’s no such thing as a good public school in (fill in the blank). Why in the heck would you let the government teach your child ????

Forget it. People are rolling with it

It's still the same issue now as it was 4 years ago, and just mentioned above:

The destruction of the family unit. Ever since frankly the 60's or so, people began to tear apart the family, and now that generation is the very one that should be the backbone of the family frankly just hasn't prioritized the importance of family enough for their younger relatives. Single parent homes are almost teh norm, Hollywood glamorizes out of wedlock pregnancies, none of this helps.

It started in the 90s.

24/7 news coverage and the invention of the internet meant information was available like never before.

People have overdosed on information.

. Definitely social media. Kids these days will have no idea how to interact socially in a work environment

I would also say social media. But not because of kids but adults who got onto Facebook and started to get brainwashed and believing fake news articles. Brainwashed politically. Brainwashed into anti vaxing. Etc etc. People are too gullible and easily manipulated. Social media is the downfall of the USA as we once knew for sure. That's why we have that POtuS in office right now.
