Personal Responsibility. Not many believe in this and the government feels like it has to take care of all of the poors. disaster.

At one time? Slavery has been around forever. And still exists today in places like Africa.

And of course, the social media crowd as everyone else talked about is right there to fuel it all.

Society evolves, it really doesn't get better or worse. Just reflects the values of the day. 25 years from now people who are 25 years old will be cursing the society of the day as well

Social media just has made the ugly, hidden sides of society more open and accessible. The ridiculous is worshiped because it is entertaining.

People who worry that young people get away with too much are dead wrong though. We got away with a hell of a lot more shite than kids can today. I kind of feel sorry for them.

As opposed to when? Some mythical "good ol days" era when everything was hunky dory?

Society has always had a large percentage of shitbags, no matter what era.

It’s the machine that we’ve created and we all work within It. It’s an unfulfilling life for most people because it’s not based in anything substinative, but things, lots and lots of things. This makes people work their asses off, have to have 2 incomes, and all to get more shite to live. We’re not really living. We’re working for 2 weeks of vacation a year and so we can buy more shite and maybe help our kids get educated so they can get more shite too when they move out.

It’s not really about work ethics here. It’s about our priorities, and work takes complete command over everything else because you have to live within the system and be a good worker. You live to serve this ship. Row well and live.

Every single bit of this contributes to the selfishness, the entitlement, the drug abuse, the alcoholism, the poor health, the anger, you name it. I will never buy into the fact that humans were intended to have phones on their hips, non stop texting, and emails to drown in during the day, that we were to worry about where we put our kids during the day so we can make more and more money to live a life we don’t even really live.

That’s why it’s so shitty. We’re fricking retarded, and the sooner we come to grips with that, the sooner we can maybe get our heads screwed on again, and not worry about maximizing our mortgages, vehicles, etc, etc.

We haven't had any real societal pain in too long.

We don't starve anymore. Our poor people are fat. They don't work and still eat better than the kings of old.

Our boys aren't getting their guts festooned on barbed wire and being blown to bits, dying in the mud and gore of some artillery hole on foreign soil.

Our women aren't working in munitions factories and growing their own gardens because their ration books are empty.

Plague isn't taking babies by the drove. Old people have to worry about catching STDs and prolonged boners.

We live in the lap of luxury and instead of thanking their lucky stars that they aren't in some bread line, or enslaved to some warlord, or having their head sawed off, they complain about being offended, or made to feel uncomfortable.

Instead of worrying about the ability of men to find work to support their families, people are worried about appeasing some fringe of a fringe of a fringe to pee in the girls room.

We're too comfortable. Too full. Too fragile.

We need some hardship to toughen us up again and to cull the worthless fold. Darwin is overdue.
You win the internets today bro.

Depends what you mean by thriving. Life is easier than ever, but people are soulless.

We are literally having to manufacture issues on social media to pretend there's meaning.

You're kinda proving my point. Superficial, materialistic. Look at this things, the figures, the numbers and decide life is meaningful. We are basically just occupying time and trying to make it a simple comfortable as possible, competing with people we don't even know via social media.

No wonder the suicide rate and rates of depression are sky high, particularly among the young.
