I heard them say on the show he has been in the hospital. Even though I wrote them off years ago, I started listening to a bit of it again.

Hope he gets better soon and can return.

They haven't been specific, just saying he is going to return when he's 100% (or something like that).

They're having fun with all the "fan fiction" rumors swirling around.

Remember when those guys were relevant back in the late eighties early nineties. Unlistenable now unfortunately.

Remember listening to them on B-97 FM in NOLA back in the early to mid 80's as a kid on the bus. They were just funny then. No politics at all. They split up for a while in the 90's, and his show Walton & Rumble (with some new guy) was atrocious. Then Johnson came back...

Then, something like 15 or 20 years ago that all stopped and it became what it is now...which is REALLY fricking hard to listen to.

Yep, when Obama was in office, the show was awful. Crotchety old men. I do think it's gotten a bit better.

Yep.. i remember listening to them in the mornings before school, probably 4th or 5th grade, ‘83 and ‘84ish, on my Panasonic boom box.. seriously.. they were funny to a kid, what with their different voices and their riffs on the then-New Orleans Breakers of the USFL.

Started listening to them again in high school, early 90s.. still funny, but liked them just in small doses.. not sure if my tastes in comedy matured, or if they got less funny- probably a combo of both... then made the mistake of trying to listen to them again maybe 15 or 20 yrs ago, just awful, too much politics no matter who you are.

The 2000 election sent the show south. Went to very little entertainment and just politics.

Who doesn't love El Gringo?

I enjoy the show now that Barry Soetoro is out of office.

I guess I would be a bitter a-hole too if I'd been stuck in the same mid market for 30 years. Radio is a contracting industry and it probably makes everybody in it feel pretty desperate.

Apparently there was a cringeworthy incident several years ago where they showed up at Howard Stern's studio unannounced and he told them to get lost.

I'm not sure anyone is listening to radio anymore, FM or otherwise.

When I get in the car to go to work. I get a quick traffic report and then put on a podcast, audio book or pandora.
