Do three consecutive 3 month stints there, Sept thru May.. then do June/July/August in Alaska .. that is seriously what i’d do.
Then the next year, rinse and repeat, but substitute Maine for Alaska.

I’m somewhat in same boat....... I want 4 door 4x4 and automatic, not manual.
Same boat here as well.. except, like the OP, i want a 2 door (i’m a purist) with a manual transmission, since theyre more fun to drive.
I’m just looking for one as a second vehicle, an ‘i’ve always wanted one’ type of thing... The main thing i’m looking for, and that is somewhat hard to find, is one that is as close to completely stock as possible.. seems like most of them have had lots of modifications done.. And i’m looking for one that is either a Rubicon, or a Sahara, since those models tend to be nicer overall.. my sweet spot so far seems to be 2009-2012 models, which can be found for under $15k in pretty decent shape, though they arent super common in that price range in those years, those deals do exist if you look hard, and all over the country.

Why not post this on the Tiger Rant? Or the Politics Board?

Could this have more to do with he fact that (at least according to your bio) you’re in Memphis? Ive heard not so great things about Memphis, though pretty good things about the rest of the state ...
re: Business owners: Are you having hard time finding employees?

Try paying more?
This is the answer, but most business owners refuse to acknowledge it, even when business is going tremendously well.
A good analogy is to look at the fast food industry .. the places that are considered the ‘ultimate’ in fast food experience, are Chick Fil A and In n Out burger.. i’m not trying to start a debate about which burger you like best or whatever, but i’ve lived all over the country, and those two places consistently have lines around the block, even at off peak times.. they are known for doing one item, and being the best at it.. but moreso, they are known for their tremendous customer service,. Why? While every other fast food place starts their workers at $8 or $9 an hour, In N Out and CFA start at $12 or $13 an hour, even more in some parts of the country- and managers make well into six figures... A difference of $3 or $4 per hour is a big deal to someone at that level, just like a salary increase of $30k or $40k per year is a big deal to most of us here who work in sales, or at a plant, or in an office... These lessons are applicable to all businesses.

I say "absolutely" all the time when replying to requests from clients. I didn't realize that was a ~female~ thing.
It isnt a female thing.. i know just as many males as females who use the word ‘Absolutely’ to confirm something, in both personal and professional situations.
The OP is reaching really hard to stir conversation about somehting that doesnt even exist... Only three days into the offseason, and this is where we are already.

Cant you find something else, ANYTHING else to post about?? What must your life be like to be bothered by completely innocuous words/phrases like that?

Jon Hamm seems like the most put together dude out there. Looks, brawn, swag, and confidence. The total package and essence of what a man should emulate.
Nothing wrong with Hamm, i’m sure he does just fine with the ladies, and seems like a decent actor.. and i’m not one to crap all over ‘Hollywood’, but just know that a lot of what you see is a lot of smoke and mirrors .. in real life, Hamm is actually balding fairly rapidly , and they always do a great job covering it up in his movies.. and he’s not doing it ‘for a role.’

I’ve never lived in Dallas, but as a former Houston resident, i can tell you that once you see your property tax bill- you’ll realize that the ‘no state income’ thing that Texans tout is a joke, and that they’re getting your money, just in a different way.

re: Anyone do a regular commute between Baton Rouge and Houston?
Posted by Sweltering Chill on 1/11/20 at 10:10 pm to tiger09
You’re not the first poster to mention driving from BR to NOLA, then flying to Houston.. but to me that would be the last thing i’d Ever do.. you’re spending an hour and fifteen minutes driving to MSY, then have to go through security, then wait to board , then the flight itself , then luggage claim , then renting a car in Houston or Ubering- and that’s IF the plane isnt delayed, which happens to me more often than not... You would actually get to Houston quicker by just driving directly there from BR.

Not really a ‘regular’ commute- but for several years when i lived in Houston, i made the drive to BR twice a month for LSU home games.. it sucked because that’s a tedious drive to begin with, and traffic on game day Fridays made it unbearable.. but that was only 7 or 8 times a year, so not too bad.
My brother lives in NOLA and has to go to Houston twice a month year round for work; he takes a Wheels Up jet and he likes it.

Still? Ellen has never lived in NOLA.. i dont think she’s ever even owned a home in NOLA, though i could be wrong on that.
She did, however, live in Metairie while growing up.
