Beyond the sports bets and hot stock tips, this is probably the best advice for 90% of people.
Even if you're completely spaced out, you would surprised how much you retain simply by being there.
Going to office hours makes a nice corollary to this.

absolute truth...when I went back to college to get my accounting degree, I graduated with over a 3.5--primarily because I went to class!!!!!
sign up for Band your first semester, drop out of school after your first semester and join the military to get your GI bill.

I skipped a math class because it was easy as hell and the semester was close to over and I had a high A already and wasn't worried about the final.

Enjoy it because there are things you do that will one day become frowned upon.

Completely overrated. Eat an adderall a couple of days before the test and just do all the prep questions. Questions are the exact same format, they just change the numbers/variables.
