I would go inside and grab my gun and call the police. I do not know if he has a gun, or what is going through his mind. I am also not chasing him outside with a gun and getting a murder charge.

i took pictures, and called the cops. by the time the cop arrived, i had a photo printed and a cd for him to print more. they brought him by the office for me to id him later in the day, and when he saw me, he said "that's him, i was in his kitchen this morning." he did 16 months.

Get your gun then what? Hold the perp at gun point? What if the perp decides to walk off. Can't shoot the perp.
I'd still get a gun to protect myself and call the police.

That's what I thought too, but then the OP said the guy left the hedge trimmer.
Maybe there aren't a lot of hedges in the neighborhood, but that could narrow his potential client list.

That's kinda what I was thinking. There isn't much I could have done with the gun except for hold him or pistol whip him. Unless I felt my life was in danger, I really don't want to have to shoot anyone.

If it did I would probably yell "What the frick are you doing". Depending on how threatening he looked, I would probably just watch him run off and then call the cops or tell him to not move while I call the cops.

Logic is faulty in OP. This is the OT - any shed would not be visible from my backyard and keeping up with the equipment is what I pay the groundskeepers for. Playinng along though, I would fire that sector's security chief.

I'd take a pic with the phone and let him run away. I am not trained in any sort of hand to hand combat and would only get myself hurt trying to fight him.

well I probably haven't used that lawn mower and weed eater in over a year....and if it is who I think it is, he knew that. He also knows I pay someone to do my lawn and I thik he's pissed because I wont let him do it.
