Low 4.6's hand timed at Tulane baseball camp. 20+ years later I am still trying to figure out why we ran 40's at a baseball camp

Faster than this guy….King of the 34 yard dash.

I ran a 4.88 at LSU football camp between my sophomore and Junior year. Fastest time I ever ran was on the biggest stage.
It was still 3 tenths of a second slower than it needed to be to garner any attention lol,

4.8 in high school twenty years ago by hand, so actually probably 5.5 or slower.
My coach always made us bigger, stronger, and faster by estimating when necessary.

It took too long to count all the grains of sand that ran through the hourglass to figure it precisely.

This dude is probably telling the truth.
My best 40 time was a 4.9. The fastest guy on our team ran a 4.6. What we lacked in speed we made up for by being small and unathletic.

4.88 40. 194 lb pulling guard in high school at Cy Fair. Blocking for Marshall Foreman our RB who went to Arkansas. He was a badass. Corners got lit up because Marshall would catch me and put a hand on my back as we closed in on the CB running wide.
They couldn’t avoid the block.

I used to drive my coaches wild because I could not break a 4.8 in HS because I had such a slow start. Yet, when matched up with our faster WRs, they could not get separation. They used to tell me if I actually spent more time in the squat rack instead of track practice I could get to the low 4.6s or high 4.5s.
End of the day, track gave me scholarship opportunities, getting better at football may have given me better stories for a shitty football team that never broke .500 in its history for the HS reunions I don't attend.

I’m only 72 years old. Haven’t finished that 40 yet!

Around a 5.0-5.1, but I was a lineman, lol.

What I actually ran or what I put down on my Frat Rush applications?

IDK, but they used a sundial to time me...
