What to do about neighbors dog? (Update on Page 1)

So, my neighbor has a dog (Pitbull). Today the dog almost attacked my daughter this morning and went the same for me when I walked out into my driveway.
I called the police, they came and said they will issue them a citation and give them x amount of days to either securely house the dog or it will be removed.
My worry is that this dog may attack my wife or 3 year old. I would rather fix the problem before hand versus having a family member bitten or worse.
The dog actually crossed into our yard twice. We have video of the dog running after me.
What would you do?
UPDATE:
Well since the neighbors rent the home where the dog resides, I let the Landlord and HOA know what was going on. I let them know a complaint has been filed with the police department and a citation and order for containment is coming tomorrow.
The landlord and HOA responded that eviction is in now process since that type is dog is prohibited.
I called the police, they came and said they will issue them a citation and give them x amount of days to either securely house the dog or it will be removed.

As a non-internet tough-guy, I'd play it safe for x days and take it from there. Anything you do outside of what you already started will make for a bad situation.

Make sure the dog is vaccinated when entering your property, then give it a job. won't bother you anymore
