Utah

This is the most retarded answer in the thread. Congratulations.

Utah is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, especially Southern Utah with Bryce Canyon, Moab, Zion, Monument Valley, etc, etc, etc, etc. On the flip side, some of the best snow on the planet with ridiculous views and beauty in the mountains.

I've lived in 7 states and Japan, and I've very rarely been dumbfounded by natural beauty like I have visiting Utah.

I dgaf about Ohio, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, or Iowa tho.

Ohio. I can't think of any reason why I would want to go to Ohio. Other states have historic cities I might like to see, or scenic landscapes, or good hunting and fishing that I'd like to experience.

Ohio just isn't on top of any of those lists.

If you are going to see half the state, you might as well take 10 mins and drive the whole way through. It isn’t a very big state.

I’ll limit this to states I’ve been to and don’t need to return to:

Indiana - Indiana Dunes National Park is pretty cool and downtown Indy is fun, but so is the downtown of a hundred other cities. Can’t see a scenario that I visit Indiana for fun

Iowa- Des Moines is an underrated city and would be a decent place to live, but to visit the state? Eh, I’ll pass. It’s a whole lot of nothing

Mississippi- The bigger cities are dumps and it has a tiny coastline with much better coastlines near by.

Runners up: Ohio, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska

Oh and if Illinois didn’t have Chicago, it’d be number 1 in landslide. Driving the length of that state north to south should be classified as torture by the UN

One state I would love to live in is Vermont but holy hell the people there are nuts. Unfortunate.

The good news is that there aren’t a whole lot of people there. I live in a COUNTY that has 3X the population of Vermont and is about 2/3 Democratic voters over the last few election cycles.

All these people dissing Kansas, smh.

Having lived in KC,KS for about 6 months and doing FHA Home Improvement inspections all over South and Central KS I have to admit: live there, No. Visit there? Hell yes!

The people of KS are nice, like old timey Deep South nice. The girls are almost like old time antebellum South types too (less feminist, more feminine) but without the "aw shucks, Georgia Peach" accent. And overall, KS is less fat. Not gonna see a lot of morbidly obese waddling around and riding scooters. It was shocking crossing from OK into KS, go from a bunch of fatass waddling Okies to slimmer, more trim and neat Kansans instantly.

But yeah, flat fields of dirt, grain, and grass is all the landscape is. Sooo boring. But the people, especially the women, are a breath of fresh air.

I've spend a fair amount of time in that part of the world. It's somewhat significant to the history and economy of the USA, but I wouldn't describe it as a particularly enjoyable place to spend time.

Yeah, the original settlers in Plymouth, the American Revolution and the Industrial Revolution are only “somewhat” significant. I live in South Florida where it’s a 15 minute drive to get on a cruise ship or a 90 minute flight to any island in the Caribbean and there is no place I’d rather spend my vacation than in New England.

Took this picture today on my run around 9AM. It is 71° with low humidity.

This is part of the marina in Oswego NY. Eagle eyes may spot a distinct flag flying on three different boats.

There isn’t one state in this country that I wouldn’t love to visit and explore.
