One of my connections posts a picture of his Apple Watch around 4 AM everyday (usually he is in the bathroom) with some stupid quote he pulled up for the day.
We get it dude, you get up early. You’re the first person in the world to do so. Congrats

Don’t forget about random financial advisors who try to start up conversations like you are some sort of long lost friends. I can’t imagine actually going to a financial adviser who hunts for clients on linked in and cold messages them. I’d go to someone I know or who was recommended by someone I know and trust. Just seems like a weird way to try and get business.

It's like Facebook for realtors and mlm suckers

I've seen people find new jobs via Linkedin

Briefly dated means what, 2...3 dates?

I've been headhunted on there. Some decent offers, but current situation is still the best for me. It's gonna take a lot for me to move on to somewhere else, but if you keep your profile up to date it can be beneficial.

I had it a while back and the deleted it...then a friend I know found a laid back job making over 100k through a recruiter so I started it up again, but no such luck for me (I looked at his page and turns out he had really pimped himself out with full job descriptions, skills, etc...I’m just not willing to do that. A place for people to show off their jobs is my personal hell).

Not even that significant. Went out once & he’s still occasionally trying to add me on Facebook & LinkedIn. I haven’t responded or spoken to him since then, which was years ago.

I like the losers who have as their headline "currently seeking new opportunities" i.e. I'm broke and need a job, please call me recruiters!

I just deleted mine, freaking annoying e-mails ran me off.
I used it in the past to find a job

Then honestly LinkedIn isn't for you. Most people on there, just like resumes, fluff it up way past reality

Got my current job after being contacted via LinkedIn. I would have never found this opportunity if I didn’t have that profile. With that being said, I very rarely go on there because it’s turned into a corporate Facebook with a bunch of shitty sales memes.

The guy that just got laid off should update his LinkedIn profile.

Networking. Very important for some jobs. Others not so much. I guess you have a job where networking is not important

I’ve been contacted by multiple headhunters on LinkedIn both trying to hire me or see if the company I work for is hiring.
I also belong to a few group that allow people to ask technical questions concerning automation and controls. Those don’t get used all that much but I have seen people get questions answered there.

I live in Lafayette, used to manage or assistant manage an automation group at a couple of different places, Pegasus and KBR. Now I work for Keystone, but technically out of Mandeville. Now doing contract integration support 14/14 on a deep water platform, likely until I retire if they let me.
I never realized how much I would like shift work. Having a 2 week vacation every month is nice.
What about you, bad? Do we know each other?

Same here. Last 2 jobs were due to someone reaching out on LinkedIn. I also use it to keep up on my industry, as the people and organizations I follow post articles daily. I use it to my advantage.
