there's a monument not too far from where I live to two Texas DPS motorcycle cops they gunned down on an Easter Sunday just for the fun of it

Just came across that photo in my photo roll The museum there was pretty cool although they don't get much traffic.

Death row sentence should be carried out within 5 years. It is absolutely these bottom feeding criminals live 20 years and more. The victims didn’t get the same opportunity.

In my lifetime I'd say either the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen murders or the Kim Ahn restaurant killings.

I agree they were cold blooded. Antoinette Frank is pretty evil.

Gotta be JD8 where I live. There was also a guy from Lake Arthur that killed his entire family around 1980ish.... His name was Michael but I was a kid and don't remember much about that one.

Perry... Michael Perry

Legend has it they cased the local bank and decided it wasn't worth robbing.

No mention of Betty Smothers' murder? I figured everybody from central Florida to Atlanta would know about that one.

Closest biggest story to me was a dad that killed all five of his kids then drove around for a while with the bodies. In 2014. He's on death row.

Rose Born killed in her donut shop in Lake Charles was also a brutal crime that shook the community. This one and KK’s corner I think shook the community more than any other in my memory because of the unknowns surrounding them. Most murders have a clear connection of victim to criminal. These 2 did not.

I remember the Michael Perry situation when I was a kid. Seems like he was being looked for by the police because I remember being frightened about the whole thing.

Just looked and it was summer of ‘83. It was a couple of weeks before he was apprehended. I forgot about the Olivia Newton-John aspect of his case.

DC snipers began devolving in my little town, Ashland VA. I was in the YMCA working out the night they came and got a shower, just before they shot the guy at the Ponderosa.

BUT, this one was so senseless and hit home as the Harvey house was right next to the mountain bike path I rode all the time. It felt really weird riding there afterward. Knowing those little girls died like that.

These assholes just walked right into these peoples house on NYD, who were busy prepping their house for a party they held every year.

March 1997 - The Chandalar Murders. Son and friend killed dad, stepmom, and 2 step siblings. All of this was over the use of a truck. The incident was featured on a show called Family Massacre a while back. extremely graphic situation.

Nothing in my small town that would have made anything beyond the local news. The one I remember the most is a kid that was a year younger than me, he was 12 at the time. Kid snuck out of his house to get fricked up. Apparently was having a bad trip came home and shot his dad to death with 5 different guns.

Last 10 years? Carly Gregg case.

In last 50 years? Probably Sherry Case on the coast.

Most famous murder in Mississippi ever? Either Emmit Till or the three civil rights workers.

Both of those were much bigger national stories.
