Been to Maui twice and Oahu & Kauai once (and currently planning trip to Big Island for next year). It all depends in your interest as to which Island to go to. We only do 1 island a trip and stay for a week so if you were to island hop I’d say you need to stay at least 10 days and shoot for 2 weeks if possible.

We love Maui and have stayed In Kanapalli both times we’ve been but we go to see the whales (which you will be on the back end of their season or might miss altogether). Lahaina looks to be getting back somewhat. Hana is a good trip for those that haven’t done it but I don’t really need to do it again. That said, the black sand beach is pretty cool. The beach in Kappa (I think that’s where it is) is where you want to go if you want to see sea turtles. We’ve gone 2-3 times and there are usually 40-50 turtles just hanging on the beach. Believe we’ve seen a monk seal there too. Black Rock is good for snorkeling. Halekalla was amazing but very cold so be prepared. We wore hoodies and beanies and were still freezing as it was very windy. Think the car thermometer said it was 36 degrees. Go the first day after you arrive as you are going to wake up super early due to the time difference. You’ll probably want to get there at least an hour before sunrise and it’s a bit of a haul to get there. Think we left the hotel around 3:15.

Oahu was fun but you you have a lot of folks in Honolulu which means a lot of traffic. Once you get away a bit there is a good bit to see and do. Pearl Harbor is a must. Been about 17 years since we went so my memories are a little hazy.

I’ll echo the sentiments from above in that Kauai is probably my favorite island (unless you go to Maui in February/March for whale watching). It was very relaxed and lacking some of the amenities of Maui & Oahu but it was beautiful. Amazing beaches and a good bit of outdoor stuff to do besides just going to the beach. Saw monk seals and turtles both (Salt Pond Beach I believe is where we saw them).

I’d roll with Misha Mutavdzic, Roman Rubchenko, & Geert Hammink
Williams faced the most serious charges of the four, including attempted murder, assault, and aggravated mayhem. His jury acquitted him on the charges and instead convicted him of only four misdemeanors and simple mayhem. He was given the maximum sentence of 10 years, but was paroled after serving four years.[11] After his release, he was convicted in 2003 of second degree murder for his role in the 2000 killing of Grover Tinner, which took place at a house suspected of being used for selling narcotics. The victim's sister disputed that Williams had shot at Tinner, and a coalition of community and religious leaders demanded his release, saying he was being targeted because of his involvement in the Denny case. He was ultimately convicted for participating in a crime resulting in a homicide and sentenced to 41 years in prison.[11] As of 2007 he was incarcerated in Pelican Bay State Prison.

We just got back from DC and they had a lot in bloom. Wife likes them because they had one when she was a kid so we’ll likely plant one at some point.
Have a family friend who’s kid is very highly ranked and I told my wife the same exact thing. He might be very good and pan out but they will absolutely rank kids playing in their system over anyone else.
I’ve thought about this in the past and feel like you will see your loved ones as you remember them or want to see them. We will appear differently to everyone.

So, why are they still underground? Seems they could go topside. Does Sinatra have a reason she wants them to stay underground for a while?

Didn’t the guy Sinatra spoke with that explained the whole doomsday scenario to her say something about things would get better after the ash cloud went away but that the temperatures would continue to rise? I may be off a little bit but thought it was something along those lines.

Certainly someone who had suite tickets could afford that if she wanted to sit in the chute area.

I highly doubt she paid for that suite.

Wasn't that the station that got rid of Ryan Chase?

Yep. Was in Houston last week and caught part of “The Roula Show” with Eric. Did some investigating as I remembered the both of them from my time in Houston & sounded like Ryan went off the deep end.
I remember the Michael Perry situation when I was a kid. Seems like he was being looked for by the police because I remember being frightened about the whole thing.

Just looked and it was summer of ‘83. It was a couple of weeks before he was apprehended. I forgot about the Olivia Newton-John aspect of his case.

I pass by the Peacock from time to time and it brings up fond memories. Would buy that shirt in a heartbeat.

We used to hit Mama’s Fried chicken in Eunice when I was younger. Need to stop at the one in Opelousas one of these days.
Watched a show about the KK’s Corner case the other day. McElveen didn’t do his son any favors with his attitude on the show although I doubt the boy was involved. Cisco lied so damn much you can’t believe anything that came out of his mouth. Rumors still persist about McElveen being involved but I think people just decided it was true and continue to keep it going (especially the families of the victims).
Speaking of Skid Row, how is the brother of the poster that was missing and located there by a member of the board?

Watching Southland now and I really enjoy watching Shawn Hatosy. He was also good in Animal Kingdom.
Following along as we are going in early April but my kid is older than yours (15). Anyone have any feedback about going during the cherry blossom festival?

Here now for the Liberty Bowl. Wife was here a few years ago (this is my first trip) and she said downtown is a lot less sketchy this go around. Heavy military presence around Beale has probably helped with that. We were down there for the parade today and probably saw between 50-100 reservists walking the street (along with FBI & other federal agents).

We did Peabody yesterday and it’s an enjoyable little experience. Had Rendezvous for lunch and it was good. Went to Sun Studio today and enjoyed it. Cool to be in the same studio that Elvis & Cash recorded in.

Went to a little Japanese bakery this morning (Sweet Musings) that had some interesting pastries.

If they had made the scene realistic it would have looked more like this Twitter Link
Any guesses as to what Henry saw when he opened the brief case after he smashed the guy’s head in?
Why not track on the manifest who needed a wheelchair to board then have them stay in their seats until everyone else has deplaned? If they aren’t in their seats then it’s noted and they go on a list showing that do not receive assistance in the future. I’m sure this won’t fix the issue entirely but imagine it would help some.
Mayeaux’s had an 1:45 wait yesterday afternoon (but they had the parade yesterday so hopefully it won’t be that bad next weekend).
