Elizabeth Dale-Gibbons-Flanagan-Jeffries-High-Brown-Routt, known as the Black Widow of Hazel Green, was a woman infamous for marrying six wealthy men, all of whom died under suspicious circumstances. Born on October 28, 1795, in Worcester, Maryland, she became a legend in Alabama due to the rapid succession of her husbands' deaths.
eta: My wife went to school with a kid that hacked up his father, mother, and sister when he was in high school. One sister escaped.

Ronald Dominique
I've seen a couple shows that profiled that guy and he was one sick puppy, but ingenious how he got so many young men incapacitated before killing them. Hell of a ruse he thought up and able to pull off time after time.
To look at the guy, he looked like he would be scared of his own shadow---and that's what made him so dangerous.

Robert Crane (Col. Hogan from "Hogan's Heroes) was murdered in Scottsdale and Jody Arias murdered the guy at his home in Mesa although she lived in Phoenix so close enough.

Delly's Corner in BR. A hamburger place at corner of Sharp and Old Hammond. Just outside Broadmoor subdivision. Owner was murdered by an intruder after he closed up. As far as I know, perp was never caught. Probably a disgruntled ex-employee since he knew the owner's routine.
This shook up the neighborhood for years. Owner and his family were very nice, and lived in Broadmoor,

Malibu Grand Prix. It's a dog park now.
Houston, TX - 610 & Westpark
Mass stabbing and robbery that claimed four lives. All four were employee's.
An employee was fired. He went back with two of his friends and killed the workers.
One of the suspects was a juvenile. I believe he got life without parole. The other two were sentenced to death and were executed. One in 1993. The other in 1997.

Candace Lynn Montgomery (née Wheeler; born November 15, 1949) is an American woman who was accused of murdering her former lover's wife, Betty Gore. The killing took place in Wylie, Texas, on June 13, 1980. During the assault, Gore was struck 41 times with a wood splitting axe. Montgomery pleaded not guilty to charges of murder on the basis of self-defense, alleging that Gore confronted her about the affair she had with Gore's husband and attacked her with the axe. She was acquitted.
There's been several TV shows about this one including:
Montgomery was portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the HBO Max series Love & Death, which debuted in April 2023.

I dated a girl whose father committed the baked ziti murder. She told me while we were watching Dexter. She was a baby and witnessed the whole thing. One of the most famous murders in Boston apparently. Richard Rosenthal or something was his name and she had a different last name.

Atlanta metro here. I guess the Centennial Olympic Park bombing.
I'd go with the Atlanta Child Murders (Wayne Williams). That had the whole city on edge for a long, hot summer.
For Auburn, it was when Eddie Siebold killed those little girls....may he burn forever.

Nothing in my small town that would have made anything beyond the local news. The one I remember the most is a kid that was a year younger than me, he was 12 at the time. Kid snuck out of his house to get fricked up. Apparently was having a bad trip came home and shot his dad to death with 5 different guns.
IIRC where you are now this one was probably the talk of the town
Starks man found guilty on 3 of 6 charges in shooting of 14-year-old
Also, a guy I went to HS with, who overdosed years ago, his brother was killed in your neck of the woods while on his deer lease for his side-by-side and truck
Arrest made in connection with Jody Barlow homicide
Their poor parents lost two sons

16th Street Baptist Church Bombing
Although it happened in downtown Birmingham the main conspirator who claimed to have lit the fuse was Bobby Frank Cherry. And everyone knew not to mess with them boys up so-an-so road. Which was only two streets away from where I was living at the time.
