Dance was at $28k for my 12 year old last year. Decreased to about $20k this year. When it comes time to pay for college, and I refuse, I'll ask them to inquire as to what happened to the 300k+ in child support I will have paid and drop the mic.
And I thought pay to play lacrosse was expensive at $10k a year.

As someone that’s rodeoed on all levels, I agree.
80k Tahoe with 2k gear for travel ball is laughable.
A 25k horse, 100k truck and trailer doesn’t even touch the unseen expenses or make your child competitive
Rodeo as a whole has become “the rich survive” thing

Got a friend who’s kid has been into kart racing since he was 6 and is now 16 getting into real car racing now.
They are wealthy, but it’s very expensive even for them.
Reminds me of seeing Dave Portnoy (Barstool) on TV before the Belmont talking about putting down some big bets. He said something like, "Compared to most people, I'm wealthy, but among these horse owners I'm the poor guy."

Most you have spent on your kid doing a sport.
Had great long term benefits, but was pretty pricey along the way.

I know 3k is pretty normal for travel baseball or club soccer.
Lol.
My nephew was a competitive bass angler. That was not inexpensive.

Was talking to a guy the other day about his son playing travel hockey. He claims his son is good enough to be worth the amount.
He said it costs $7500 a year just to be on a team. That price includes nothing.
I've read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, and if his kid was born after March, he's not going very far.

Yeah, we spent about $30k for dance last year for our 11 year old. Good news though, our 9 year old also made a team this year. Yay!

Youth Wrestling. Both of my sons do it so it is double for me. Club membership, tournament entries, travel to all the tournaments, hotels, membership cards

Bass fishing has taken off as a HS sport around here. I see parents buying bass boats and traveling hundreds of miles to tournaments.

My daughter could run like a gazelle, thought cross country was in her future. Next thing I know she’s riding English. It was very expensive.

Team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, and barrel racing can cost enormous amounts of money if you really want to compete. Some of these kids have $20,000 - $100,000 horses, $45,000 - $150,000 trailers, $60,000 - $120,000 trucks, and spend $5,000+ on entry fees. On top of that, all the money spent on tack, insurance, and fuel.

Yep, I went to a match and learned you need a minimum of 4-5 horses to play. And the horses must be polo trained ($20K+ per horse). So it's $100K+ to get on the field.

Having daughters in general is plenty expensive before you even start with extracurricular.
But I’d say equestrian
Anything ice related in the South
Travel ball of any kind
Travel cheer/dance

The sport of big city suburban life.
Not only do you have to pay for travel ball, but you have to have a $15k golf cart to drive to the neighborhood pool, an e-bike as well, and an F-250 to fill up with diesel on your one way 1+ hour commute. Your wife will also need an $80k Tahoe or suburban that will blow a transmission at 40,000 miles. Good luck. This is the minimum for your kid to make D1. Add a $70k bass boat if you really want to fit in or a $100k plus RV so you can ‘save money’ on all your travel ball excursions. Never forget buying full coverage insurance on all the unnecessary items because your brainwashed by fear.
Then use the excuse about low interest rates and getting ahead in the market you don’t invest in.
