The illegalization of marijuana, and it's continued existence as a schedule 1 drug are one of biggest shams our government and politicians continue to play on the people.

quote:

Schedule I drugs are those that have the following characteristic according to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA):

The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.

The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical treatment use in the U.S.

It has a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision.

WHY is Marijuana still illegal?
Simple, it is a medical fact that it can be used for pain management, and in this country lobbying is legal. So, big pharma spends alot money lining the pockets of your state and federal government officials, and well... they write the laws.

Lil Jimmy got some bad anxiety? Here's a Xanax buddy.

Steve got some back pain? Lora-tabs or maybe a little Oxycontin will do the trick.

I hate politicians

The police make a lot of money off it being illegal.

And that’s it in a nutshell. The WoD can never be rethought or reformed because the money for police departments is just too great. It’s just like every other form of government , it gets corrupted and only grows larger.

Think he's saying there would be less police jobs due to their workload going down since they wouldn't spend so much time enforcing the drug war.

Or they could focus on real crime.

Lots of those go unsolved because attention is elsewhere.

There's nothing wrong with it. The only people I know who are against it tend to be boomers who are at least 50+ lbs overweight and drink/smoke anyway.

black market sales would significantly decrease.

This is not entirely correct. The states put so many regulations on legal operations there is still a marked for “black market” weed.

weed is a primary variable used by cops to illegally search people

you make weed legal, and soon everybody cops pull over will smell like alcohol

this is why LEO is starting to make"human trafficking" the new War on Drugs

Only in idiot states like California where they tax it so much that the black market still thrives. In Washington and Oregon legalization dropped the prices in half and killed off the black market.

There IS a black market for tobacco products in high tobacco tax states, like NY.

The justice industry depends on the revenue.

And has and will fight to keep it.

I’m not sure I’m understanding this correctly, so lawyer-splain that to me.

Are you saying that “human trafficking” could be used as a primary variable used by cops to search? How does that work?

Human trafficking and weed possession are two opposite ends of the spectrum.
