The current sales tax would suffice. Why would you be in favor of additional taxation? Seems like a good way to keep the black market, as you said, alive and well.

There's no black market for tobacco and folks are still paying out the arse for a pack of cigarettes. Every time there's a pothole that needs filling they throw a new tobacco tax out there.
They will tax it at a rate that makes tobacco look cheap.

Just sell me a dam license , stamp, brake tag , something so I can grow a few plants out back of the house here on the north shore and I won’t need a dispensary. It’s past time . The money to be made on legalization far outweighs any gains made by government shake downs of average joe rider out on I10.

I think you missed my point

I think you also missed my point where it would bring legitimate businesses into the economy instead of buying this shite at some bum's apartment and putting all the money in his pocket.

There is definitely a black market for tobacco. I used to stock up on cigs and dip I bought overseas while deployed and sell them way cheaper than available.

You ever heard of a loosey?

But, you’re probably right. They will find a way to steal as much as possible.

And still figuring out how to line the politician's pockets.

The blueprint exists.

Dispensaries can only sell weed from approved distributors and farms. Politicians get a piece or kickbacks from those distributors and farms.

No, it's not.

Gateway drugs have to be of danger. Which means that they harm you if you do them..so, you doing them..be it alcohol, or a pill..which are easily accessible..and after a small bit doesnt kill you, it allows you to feel more comfortable in doing more and more. There's your gateway.

You can smoke as much weed as you like and it's not killing you.

I imagine there is, but nowhere near like it used to be though.

Also, I've heard so many people say they are just going to grow their own weed. Most of them can't grow a decent tomato if they tried, either due to incompetence or laziness. Most people will buy from dispensaries or direct from growers. Very few will actually grow anything worthwhile for themselves.

At this point it's illegal. "Because it's illegal."

Because the increase in revenue in other states is due to a weed tax, which I oppose. As I said a standard sales tax rate should suffice.

GOP should’ve been on this platform. It’s freedom. But as usual the GOP can’t get on board with something so common sense.

No mids tonight. Got some Mac Miller. I've never had it before. Heavy heavy indica. Would recommend. It damn sure wasn't $3 a gram though.

Don’t be ridiculous.

The one overriding reason pot isn’t legal is because Jesus doesn’t approve. You aren’t gonna get the evangelical vote if you believe in Devil Weed.

Not to mention, the private prison lobby would be against it for obvious reasons.

The dems could've passed weed legislation during Obama's tenure. Were they pandering to ultra religious boomers too?

Well I'm sorry we had a misunderstanding. What I was referring to was something that was being sold tax free to black market distributors and then turning it into a legitimate business that would pay taxes. I never made any inference as to what that tax rate should be, I'm fine with standard tax rates. But the fact remains, it's a tax revenue that wasn't there before and would be there if it were legal. Hence, increase in tax revenue.
