The same people fund both sides in every war fought and every war that will be fought. The politicians that send your sons and daughters to fight those wars are gutless parasites that plague humanity, I guess this is no secret.

WE (manufacturers) pay a 10% Federal excise tax to the federal government every year based on your sales, paid each quarter. On top of all the normal taxes a business pays

Basically if your total sales are 500K per year, you file a form 720 every 3 months and write the US Treasury a check for $12,500.

4 times a year

Stop complaining about the cost of fishing equipment

People use the Y2K 2-digit date field scare as an example of something that was hyped up but turned out to be nothing.

It was real. There was a shite ton of work done before Y2K to correct those issues.

Not every piece of meat has harmful bacteria on it. Since you don’t know, you assume it all does and cook the meat to the proper temperature.

Cooking the meat to the proper temperature does not kill ALL the bacteria. It kills enough bacteria to not get you sick (assuming there was harmful bacteria there to begin with).

When healthy people get food poisoning they generally don’t have bad symptoms. But if you’re not healthy, the same food poisoning can kill you. This is why saying “momma left the gumbo out all night and I never got sick, so it’s safe to do so” is pure ignorance.

Fire alarms do not set off sprinkler systems. Sprinkler systems do set off fire alarms.

Obtaining a patent does virtually nothing to insulate the patent owner against a potential third-party patent infringement claim.

Federal trademark registration generally does not confer substantive trademark rights.

Not almost unknown, but certainly widely misunderstood.

This is all true. It was still way overhyped.

Also, customers consistently refuse to do QA if it means their people have to do some work. Delay a couple of hundred flight segments, no big deal. At least someone didn't have to review two lines of code.

Current project just got delayed a full month because someone didn't review their react code.

Even worse: they don't know accounting for income taxes. They farm out all the ASC740 work because they just don't get it.

Having the tracks on a dozer or excavator adjusted tight is actually one of the worst things the machine owner can do as this leads to dry joints in the link assemblies, leading to internal bushing wear, and also accelerates wear on the links, bushings (external), idlers, and sprockets.

Also, operating a tracked machine in reverse acetates sprocket and bushing wear. And this wear increases as speed increases.

If you’re taking metronidazole (Flagyl) antibiotics, if you feel the need to use mouthwash or cough syrup, check the label to make sure they don’t have alcohol in them. If they do and you use either of them, you’ll regret it.
