If you like interracial couples it should be high up on your list lol. It’s a real city, they have high end hotels (ritz, st Regis) luxury shopping, and there are some beautiful women from GA and AL that work and live there. I think it was working for a while and there are obv tons of Fortune 500s, Emory is one of the best universities in the country ….but like all dem run cities it has succumbed to a lot of crime.

You haven't looked at the demographics recently, have you?

I have little experience with downtown ATL, staying near Centennial Olympic park a few dozen times in the last 15 years. I didn’t care for it, especially after nightfall. My in-laws live in Peachtree City and I get there pretty often. PTC is a “golf-cart” community and pretty…antiseptic. The people are nice, the police seem to be overbearing at keeping the riff raff away from the high tax paying citizens. The houses are beautiful but it is mostly devoid of culture, in every sense of the word including food. We head up to Doraville for Asian food. No small feat since that can be 1hr+ away depending on traffic.
And that’s why I’d never move there. The traffic is beyond crazy. And not just the volume, the way people drive (or more accurately cannot drive). Lots of idiots that shouldn’t be doing more than 50 are driving much faster than they need to.

That tells me that you have no argument.

a shite show of corrupt black politicians, and faux celebrities, mixed in with fake political correct woke warriors
You took the words right out of my mouth
I’d only add the absolute state of their sorry sports fan base.
Also I’ve met probably 100 people ‘from Atlanta’ but none from actual Atlanta. It always ends up being rural Gwinnett or Marietta or something

In Atlanta? When did this become a thing. We never had four seasons in Chattanooga. Three tops.

Atlanta has plenty of problems and I don't blame anyone for not really liking it. Objectively it has a lot to do, has decent enough places to live, has a higher high end than most of the region and is aesthetically and topographically nicer than a lot of major cities. Objectively, it's also a city with serious crime issues, a lot of rotten inner core, bad governance, and unfortunately it is very attractive to a very rough crowd. The pros and cons are pretty consistent with most other major cities in the South (and many beyond the South).
But most of the criticisms from places like this - by southerners - lack credibility. Very few Atlantans will take seriously criticisms coming from people in Birmingham, Mobile, New Orleans, Jackson, Baton Rogue, etc.
Just how it is.

East Cobb is a great place to raise a family

More people to have to fight when the lights go out. I doubt many will get out of Atlanta alive.

Atlanta itself obviously is problematic but Atlanta suburbs are a lush slice of Americana.

I hate Atlanta more than any other city. Probably because it's the biggest city that in my general proximity and I have to go near it a few times a year. I'd probably feel the same about any other 1m+ population city if I had to live or work near it. I hate being that close to that many people.

The black population has increased by 20k in the last ten years.

Atlanta is a great place if you live in the right areas and have a short commute. It can be a terrible place if you live in the wrong areas and have a long commute. The good news is the best areas (urban or suburban) are still affordable.
Just about anywhere in the east-side triangle between Midtown/Decatur/Grant Park offers good living. Great parks and tree canopy. Diversity of housing stock. Cool neighborhoods with increasing bike and transit connectivity. Good food and bars, from low end to high end. Calendar of fun events and festivals. Educated population and access to jobs. Attractive for families and young people. Midtown school district is actually reputable, a rarity for any urban public school district in the south.

The first two seasons were awesome! Season three had some classic episodes but overall was weird and the episodes as a whole didn't mesh well.

It’s killing Georgia. It is a gangster’s paradise. The people who live there are willingly ignorant and constantly vote against their own self interest. It’s dangerous. Intolerant. Life seems to be of very little value. It’s no different than any other major American city. I’m glad I don’t live there.
