You got an answer. Move the goalposts.

How about you tell me why NOLA and BR are on Atlanta's level since you don't like my answer?

the Black Crowes had a pretty good first album and could have been a kick arse band for a long time but their egos doomed them from the start

Not sure if you're aware, but the Black Crowes were essentially a cover band. Take any of their top hits and I'll bet my unborn child that it was a re-make.

You can live in a shvthole but constantly boast about having a large airport or some stupid company headquartered there. If you are a boogie black then you can constantly post on Instagram.

I'm far from an Atlanta evangelist but come on

It has a 100x more things to do, professional sports teams, more touring exhibits, more concerts, more parks, legit museums, more and better breweries, a wider variety of restaurants. It's aesthetically nicer by miles, has much higher end public schooling and private schooling in the surrounding areas, is reasonably close to very good beach and very close to decent mountains and mountain towns. Better golf. For most, better weather. Much better economy.

Baton Rouge has better food pound for pound perhaps, and both have crime and traffic.

I suspect you'll say "yeah well I said better suburbs and economy" - and to that I'd say "yeah well, having a good place to raise a family and good economic prospects is kind of a big deal, isn't it?"

You just described most metro markets.

I like Atlanta, or at least the suburbs.

I thought that was a weird thing he conceded as well, it cuts right to the heartbeat and vibrancy of a city. I mean that's like 80% of the argument/debate right there that he conceded but tried to play it off as small fries. At some point you have to let go of the shovel and stop digging the hole deeper

The thread is titled “what are your thoughts on Atlanta?”

And I replied with “ it's a giant baton rouge with more jobs, better suburbs, and a bit more "to do” (I do stand by this though-it is what I think about Atlanta), and I went back and fourth with a few people who disagreed.

I’m not seriously comparing br to Atlanta . It’s not that deep. Personally, I do have zero use for Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Austin though. Just not places I’d ever like to live in (again).

Plenty of cool things in ATL

You can take MARTA public transport
To many things .
Top Aquarium in the country & next to
coca-cola world.
Walk the belt-line
Ponce City Market (is on the belt-line)
Piedmont Park has festivals and music events
Climb/walk Stone Mountain & get a 360 view (tons of nature very close)
1.5 hours you can be In Blue Ridge Mountains
They have all The major sports arenas and teams
Tons of top-notch clubs & restaurants
Olympic Park is across street from College Football HOF, nearby they have the huge Ferris Wheel
Battery Park where the Braces play has all sorts of entertainment (like a boardwalk type deal) with cool bowling alley, concerts, theatre, dance clubs, restaurants etc.

** if your going there, stay in a hotel with walking distance to the MARTA, the MARTA can get you to a large portion of the above places (and you’ll save on parking and traffic). MARTA cost maybe $1.25 per person.

Some people on this board may bash ATL or may even say the MARTA is unsafe, but as long as you’re not all females, and just handle yourself, it’s fine. I’ve ridden it many times & yes, Have seen some characters, but never had an issue.

I love ATL, if it weren’t for some ties to NOLA, I would have moved there several years ago. Tons of opportunity & nowhere near the ignorance of NOLA/Louisiana imo.

They have issues, but it’s pockets & you’ve got to get lost to end up in bad areas.

The North/NE/NW side of ATL is as safe a & beautiful a place as Just about any.

Sorry for the rambling, but there is even more things if I kept going

I'm not a fan of going into the city. My daughter just graduated from UGA and lives in a apartment basically on the beltline. It's nice to go down there on a Saturday and hang out. I would not want to live there.

It all depends on what you are looking for. We are in North Cobb, 15 minutes from our boat marina on Allatoona. Our sons are able to play a ton of lacrosse pretty locally, and we are able to attend professional/college sports when we want to. It's fairly convenient to travel with the amount of direct flights we have with Delta. We feel pretty safe in our area and crime is limited. Our neighborhood has a good mix of backgrounds, and we are definitely happy being here until the 11 year old graduates.

We do miss the food in South Louisiana, however, have been able to find some cool places like Cajun Meat company on roswell road to help with the ingredients to scratch that itch.
