The show from its inception showed two episodes every week for the first several seasons. It's an FX thing, same thing with the League and other FX sitcoms.

To give people false hope that Trump is a savior when he's merely a puppet. So that they'll be even more devastated when their (completely unrealistic) hopes and dreams are crushed. To continue the BS that there are two different sides or choices and to make people think their vote matters.
Presidents are selected not elected. It's pretty simple. If you step out of line, they send a message (JFK, Reagan).
