re: La Tomatina 2018 - Tigerbait46 on 11/12/17 at 12:32 pm
I went in 2014. I describe it as the best time I'd never do again. So crazy and fun, but total chaos, claustrophobic, and a loooong day. I don't remember how we got tickets but I recall it being difficult to figure out online. Stay in Valencia the night before. Take it easy or stay up partyi...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Moving to Atlanta - Tigerbait46 on 11/6/17 at 10:03 pm
Based on your work location and budget, there aren't many places I'd consider as very desirable neighborhoods for young and single within 30 minutes. One thought would be a house on the upper west side close to the Bellwood quarry. The park being built around the quarry and connecting beltline w...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Why don't we have highly regarded philosophers anymore? - Tigerbait46 on 10/21/17 at 11:35 am
Philosophy has become reserved for elites behind academic walls, which has turned away the common folk. It's gone from the public forum serving as a practical guide for living to existential bull shite discussions among academics. Philosophers like Alan de Bottom are now trying to bring philosophy b...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Look forward to your review of Bosnia. Enjoyed my time there more than Croatia. Both incredible places to visit but definitely different offerings....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
It was a shithole that had seen better days 8 years ago when I went - maybe someone can comment if it has improved or is still bad?
Underground closed and was sold to a developer. re: Houston or Atlanta? - Tigerbait46 on 8/15/17 at 8:36 pm
Can't speak for Houston, but in-town Atlanta has transformed over the past 5-10 years and continues to look promising. Some really cool little pockets around the city. It's becoming more walkable/bikable. Piedmont Park, Grant Park, and the planned park around the stranger things reservoir - all co...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Samantha Bee goes to Iraq, is baffled when Kurds say they “love Trump” - Tigerbait46 on 8/6/17 at 10:10 pm
She might even be further shocked to know that the surrounding areas aren't taking Syrian refugees because they can't be vetted.
Which surrounding areas are these? Last I checked, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey have taken in millions of Syrian refugees....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: How Atlanta's Turner Field turned into Georgia State’s football stadium - Tigerbait46 on 8/4/17 at 8:48 am
Turner field made a little sense. They moved the stadium to the center of the season ticket holders. The area was a dump and the new one is in a brand new entertainment district.
The ironic part of this is GSU's development at the old Turner site (beyond Athletics) will probably h...

re: Anyone ever been to Athens in January - Tigerbait46 on 7/17/17 at 10:44 pm
I was in Athens in late January earlier this year. The weather can surprisingly get quite cold and wintery. I enjoyed being there in the down season though. Admission prices to attractions are cheaper and the traditionally touristy areas are instead buzzing with locals. I've also flown Aegean...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: I'm officially quitting CNN today. What news site should I read (not Fox) - Tigerbait46 on 7/6/17 at 10:48 pm
I find Christian Science Monitor and Reuters to be pretty impartial. Also, while Vice is clearly made for progressive millenials, I find they cover a lot of under-reported stories and many of their videos provide various perspectives. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Woman, 28, is 'raped nine times by three asylum seekers who filmed the brutal attack - Tigerbait46 on 6/20/17 at 3:47 pm
As for military spending, we can't have a serious discussion on that until we fix our seriously broken acquisition process. We fix that, along with a few other things, and we can reduce our military budget quite a bit. And as someone who's spent his fair share wearing the uniform in third w...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Just to be clear, I'm not against the resettlement of just Muslims. I'm against the resettlement of ANY refugees here in the US.
