How so? Most people have next to no idea how to manage a checking account, much less a portfolio

i think they've done tests and putting money in index funds pretty much always leads to higher gains (esp after the fees are taken into account)

You're talking about a broker then. There is so much more that goes into a financial plan than just gains. Some people find value in that or not having to do/learn about it themselves. Others don't. I've told people they don't need my services before

I couldn't pass it up. A couple of people didn't find it very funny. They need to read the MB more often.

For my actual answer, Going Out of Business / Liquidation sales for furniture showrooms.

Do people still fall for the timeshare scams?

I also hear about those house flipping seminars on the radio. I guess people still get wrapped up in that or they wouldn't do it.

Anyone get a call recently from someone from a resort that you apparently stayed at?

There was also the ol' reliable....AMWAY!

MLM's, pyramid schemes legally or not sucker a lot of people and never get reported because people don't want to admit it, 99% of people in many of these (google vemma) make less than minimum wage or lose $$....

also have to say "life coaches" are up there, but I guess a lot of people do benefit from The Tony Robbins stuff..I never understood it
