I thought putting money on the counter was the racist way. I remember a thread on here where someone said they were accused of being racist because they put the cash on the counter instead of in the cashier's hand.

I was at a pizzeria in Manhattan a few years back. I got two slices and a drink, and the total was, oh, $6.59. I happened to have exact change, and the cashier rejected my four pennies, saying “we don’t take pennies.” Dumbfounded, I said nothing in response and just left. They asked for $6.59, and that’s what i gave them.
What blew my mind the most about this pizzeria who wouldn’t accept my pennies is that it was owned by Jews.
