Put a black woman's change on the counter, and watch her lose her shite.

After she finishes the conversation she's having on her cell phone.

I was told it is racist to put your cash on the counter when paying. So now it is racist for the cashier to hand you your change?

I know this is a little off the topic and I’ve never shared this with anyone. The day after Obama was elected for his first term. My wife who is white was at Target shopping. She headed to check out as she was putting her items on the checkout counter when this black girl jumped in front of her and said to my wife “You better get used to this”. Well needless to say she messed with the wrong woman. My wife never takes any shite from anyone nor is she a racist. She grabbed that bitch’s shite and threw it back in the bitch’s basket and told her to step the frick back and get your arse back in line. The bitch immediately went to the back of the line. I just think the bitch just needed someone to stand up to her cowardly arse. My wife also has a carry permit. I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud of my wife.

Oh, so you're too good to hand your money to a black woman?

Racist.

A cashier at the convenience store by my office was obsessed with having the money handed to her. We got along well. She put up a notice one day saying "do not put your money on the counter." Owner took it down.

One day I bought a scratchoff lottery ticket and she put it on the counter for me to pick up. I ga e her a look and sha laughed and said "point taken."

I'm usually very friendly to cashiers, in general. I will smile and carry on a conversation, ask how their day is going, etc. Anyway, there's a cashier (black lady) at a gas station by my house who will never say so much as a word back to anything I say to her. She won't even tell me the total I owe. I have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt thinking she has social anxiety or is having a bad day or something is going on in her life. I never gave up though, and kept being nice every day. And then one day, I saw the real her when a black guy walked in. She was completely and utterly different towards him. She was all smiles, and carrying on a conversation, laughing, etc. It happened a few other times. And then I realized what was going on. This bitch doesn't like white people. I said "frick it", and for now on I don't say shite to her and put my money on the counter. You want me to treat you like the lowly gas station cashier? Done.

The only time I have ever thought about this is at a bar. I always put my hand out when the bartender comes back with my change because I hate when they put it on the bar and the bills get wet. Some bartenders will purposely put the money on the bar anyway even with my hand right there. I think they do it hoping the money is left as a tip. I make a game of it, if they put it in my hand they get a tip. If they ignore my hand and plop it on the bar, money goes in my pocket.

I usually trade at the only black owned convenience store in town. They happily take your money any way you give it to them.

I really miss the old times of the ice cream man with his change belt buckle and that little slide off the register where your coin change was delivered to you.

AAAAhhh, the good old days.

So this is what racism is.

You mention her race but not yours.

Maybe you look crazy and didn't feel like touching your crazy hands.

Dude she's a grown woman working at a gas station.. I'm sure that wasn't her childhood dream occupation

I think it was in that book titled "Sh*t My Dad Says" where the author's father pulled a family member's toddler to the side and scolded him for being a dick. When the author asked his pop if he was being a little over the top his dad said, "Nobody gets a pass to be an arsehole. NOBODY." and that is true: We've a low tolerance even for people possessing legitimate reasons for lashing out, but for people being arseholes without giving context to the recipient, like in the OP's scenario, tolerance runs on fumes, as it should: We can't all throw temper tantrums willy nilly; some people gotta set examples and have principles.

You're saying an exhausted guy reeling from life's real problems, upon walking into a strange gas station for a refreshment and being met with lectures on "2019 America," should take it up the arse because you would? Unlike you, the rest of us are lowly humans, and luckily for her the person being mistreated- the one with the real problems- was too tired and beaten down to fight, and so he took flight. Sounds to me like he was the bigger person, but what do I know? You're the righteous one...

This lady gets no "arsehole pass" and you're enabling her (and virtue signaling) by thinking she should.

quote:

Pick up the change and leave.

I...erm...? I thought he did?

quote:

No, I'm sayin be the bigger person and go.

He did? Are you huffing jet fuel or something? Jenkem? Are you huffing chit from a mason jar? Or are you just that blinded by your ego and bigotry that you literally cannot see the facts?

quote:

If Im outside cutting my grass and your son hits his baseball into my yard and I pick it up and nonchalanty throw it back into yours. Are you gonna say thanks or bitch that I didn't throw it directly to you?

Wh...what?

Pitiful. What a pitiful, irrelevant, failed analogy. What strawman are you attempting to build?

The OP did everything your virtue signaling, holier-than-thou arse said he should do, and yet it still ain't good enough. Are you just that insufferable, or are you a race-baiting, sanctimonious fool, or all of the above?

All of the above?

Thought so,

Thx.

When I bartended I always put the money on the bar. It has nothing to do with getting a tip, it’s simply easier when you have to serve a bar full of people and I don’t have to wait for you to stop looking at the TV or stop talking to the person next to you to hand you your change. Just plop it down and move on, it’s far more efficient.

Sounds more likely you are one of the people who just finds any excuse not to tip. “Aw man that waitress looked at me funny when I asked for guac on the side. There goes her tip”

I’ve always been taught the opposite. I remember some women calling mall security when I was 18 working at Abercrombie ( ) because my coworker didn’t hand her the money. That stuck with me so I’ve always made sure to hand it over and not set it down.

Although I don’t by any means agree with those psychos that it’s racist, I do think it’s rude to bypass their outstretched hand and set it down for them to have to pick up. I had to break my mom of the habit.

I feel like bartending is the exception. Bartenders always set it down. No big deal.

I’d roll my eyes and leave the change. Maybe knock over a display rack or two on my way out.
