Popeyes uses egret pieces. Skinny, mostly bone with lots of batter. Quality has gone down a lot over the years, much like a lot of other fast food enterprises.

Since Covid I’ve pretty much stopped eating out and started cooking more. It’s a constant reminder of how shitty fast food is. I may never eat it again

The pieces of chicken at Popeyes are half the size they used to be. Pull that femur off the thigh - compare it to a thigh sold at the grocery store, it's tiny. Yeah I know fryers are smaller, but these things are tiny now. Makes the chicken sandwich even more appealing since it at least is big enough.

I know. It was within the past year or so. They let that bland, inedible mush hang around much longer than they ever should have.
How in the hell do you make meat just as bland and mushy as rice? Damn.....

For some reason chicken, especially chicken wing prices have shot up a ton in the Covid world. Canes wasn’t worth it before Covid but there’s no reason a pack of wings doubled in price in two years.

I never even bother with Popeyes anymore
It’ll be randomly open Monday then again on Friday.. line will be all the way out to the street

Really? Could have sworn I had some in November at a watch party. I remember thinking....who picks cajun rice as their side. I mean if you getting one of every side maybe. But mash potatoes and the red beans and rice and 1a and 1b at popeyes

The one by my house is like this and has been since before Covid. Obviously it's worse now. Last year there were some days the crew decided to walk out mid shift and left people in the drive through line. Many days the inside isn't open and the drive through is out 7-8 cars deep on a highway nearby.
Also ran out of chicken a several times mid-day.
I haven't even tried going there in over a year.

Local restaurant I go to in a town outside Baton Rouge has a chicken tender box with 8 tenders (regular size) and fries for $8.25 after tax...
