Fights this weekend. Usual suspects.

LINK

BRPD needs to come down hard on this ASAP. Militant response.

Otherwise in 2 years, 3rd Street will look like Florida Blvd only with less surface parking.

Third St has been fricked since SWB cracked down on it due to opponents like Delgado having bars there.

She thought it was AI!!!

Either she's retarded or complicit. Remove her from her role immediately.

It really is sad what happened to 3rd St. The bars from 15-20 years ago really started to revitalize downtown. Of course, as usual once a certain demographic decides to take over, everything goes downhill.

Haven’t been on third st in 20 years. My wife and I stayed at the Hilton this weekend and went to the tunnel. After we left the tunnel we went to the “somewhere bar”. Place was dead. 11pm on a Saturday. We finish a few beers and head out. Holy frick balls. When we walk out, I thought we were at Bella Noche. We had just finished having a conversation as to why a nice little pub would be so dead at that time. Welp, found the answer

Facey said he manages the situation by hiring extra duty police officers and security guards, but neighboring businesses say that is not enough.

Of course now it’s the business owner’s fault that ferals are allowed to run wild in the city. Surely we can’t expect EBR, to which he likely pays substantial taxes, to maybe make an effort to show presence in an area that the city desperately wants to see improved, which might result in increased spending, tourism, and general tax generating activity.

A business owner/operator can only do so much. Once they get the riff raff out the door, what else should they reasonably be expected to do?

It’s hard enough to make money in those conditions. Tacking on another few thousand a month for even more security to guard the streets (where they can’t legally do shite) would be a death blow to a business like that. They’re already probably not long for this world, so they’ll close soon, and the cycle will continue.

The “Anti-Violence Advocate” can’t believe it happened or was possibly AI. No arrests have been made.

there you go. It will continue.

Peak 3rd street was around 2006 - 2012:

Roux House
City Bar
Lucy’s
Boudreaux and Thibodaux’s
The Office
Restaurant IPO
Rasputin’s - Marazil’s
Parrot Beach
Punchers

Yep I was in my early 20’s during that era. Lots of great times had between Happys/B&T’s/Roux House/City Bar/Lucy’s.

I feel like there’s one more big one I’m missing but that was the usual gauntlet.

ETA: Paul Allen with the full refresher post. The Office was also packed with consistent talent.

Just wait till we get a black DA.

Yall better vote for Moore like your life depends on it. A black guy is running against him. And it ain’t Tony Clayton.

Moore is going to lose this race due to his own complacency. He's as much to blame for the current situation as anyone.

I’m not advocating for Clayton, but maybe if Moore was a competent person, then things would be different. He’s been in office since 2009 and how much has gone better since he’s been elected? Sometimes I think the best thing to do, is to blow the whole thing up and start over. We’re only in the position we’re in as a city because of the incompetent people in charge like Hillar Moore.
