Walmart want you to pay them to use Self Check-out

-According to a report from Business Insider, self-checkout might only be usable by Walmart+ subscribers or Spark delivery drivers.
Walmart+ costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year and offers free delivery services, gas discounts and other perks, the retailer said. Spark is a delivery service that works only through Walmart.-
Not only don’t they want to pay an employee to check us out, but they want us to pay them so that we can do it ourselves?

Something's gotta offset the increase in the cost of the maintenance of the motorized scooter repairs as America gets fatter and lazier...

We love Walmart+, use the hell out of the services. We dropped Prime for it a couple years ago, haven’t looked back.

What if there are no actual person cashiers?
I then cross the street to Albertsons

Might be a way to try and curb the crazy amount of stuff stolen through self checkout. Making customers have a subscription probably means they have the ability to be a bit more responsible.
I dunno, none of the made any good sense. im tird

The neighborhood walmart closest to me has gone to this. Literally removed all manned checkouts, and I refuse to shop there if I have to get a bunch. I'll pay more at brookshires to have someone else scan and bag. Scanning and weighing things on that beat to shite kiosk then bagging them in ultra thin bags on a 2' x 2' bagging station is stress I don't fricking need

I have both. I feel a lot trashier using Plus, but Amazon can’t really hold a candle to it (in the BR area, at least). Same day or next day shipping on most things, grocery delivery, etc., while Amazon gets slower and more overrun with Temu products.

Business Insider is shite.
You're paying for everything that happens in a Wal-Mart, a Target, or a Whataburger, whether you know it or not.
What do you think *isn't* being tracked in England (Liverpool, Manchester, etc?)

frick em. I already pay Publix a bump for the pleasure of not having to deal with the Walmart trash and having multiple lanes and someone happy to actually ring my shite up.

Wal Mart isn't even cheap. I pay less for my groceries in Portland (combo of Trader Joe's and Winco) than people in rural Missouri pay at Wal Mart.

I don't know, Prime has gotten much worse with inconsistent delivery times, etc. And the amount of BS products on Amazon is starting to get pretty bad. When I first got Prime, it was much better than it is now. It's still good at times, but not what it once was.

I work 3 miles from a walmart. Placed an order last wednesday. From clicking submit on 30 items to a brother calling me saying he was parked by my truck... 12 minutes.
The following day, wife filled a cart and told me to go ahead and order the kiddo some cold meds. From submit to the same brother calling... 14 minutes.
I asked him what the deal was, he said walmart tasked him to do the shopping and he hates shopping. So he just sprints through the store with the buggy

Tipped 20 bucks and exchanged numbers. He said he sends out a mass text whenever he starts delivering so his regulars can order.

I like using self checkout because it allows me to avoid interacting with people at walmart. I also only go early in the morning when it's least busy.
