Someone who steals from WM and openly brags about it will have no issues stealing from other places as well.

Where else do you shoplift?

What Walmart should do is tack on a bag and employee fee to check out your groceries with the help of a cashier?

At least with Walmart Plus, you can scan your items while you shop and check out quicker. I don't think they fully embraced the Sams model of scan and go yet.

I remember when my local Walmart was a test area for an early type of Scan and Go, you grabbed a scanner at the door, and scanned and bagged your items while you shopped. When done, you scanned the QR code on the self check out on the way out and paid up. You then returned the scanner at the kiosk.

this morning at Lowes self check out, the register would not start without a Lowes APP. The assistant says all you gotta do is scan the QR code. I say I do not carry a phone. She says, "I do not like this new requirement either"

You want the best of both world's. People to work for $7.50 per hour to check out your crap but yet you refuse to simply swipe an item. Pick one.

I 100% support this.

Any chance we can get an entire store for just Walmart+ subscribers?

I always get the self checkout machine where the scale doesn't work.

Or all the scales don't work.

I like using self checkout because it allows me to avoid interacting with people at walmart.

Absolutely. Also allows me to bag my stuff correctly so I don't wind up with my loaf of bread under a 5 lb. bag of potatoes or a tub of sour cream or butter.
Even at Publix I set things up on the conveyor so it makes it harder for them to frick up bagging it, and try to pick a cashier who doesn't have a bagger standing there so I can jump to the end of the chute and bag it myself.
Nobody knows how to bag groceries correctly anymore, and I damn sure don't want some idiot 20 year old loser randomly grabbing produce and refrigerated items and anything else with their nasty hands before walking around the store for 30 minutes, then tossing it in some bags and delivering to me.
I want to get my own groceries, check my own expiration dates, pick my own produce, get my refrigerated/frozen items right before leaving, and bag my shite correctly.

I like to use the self checkouts. I worked at grocery stores in high school and college so I can check out and bag my groceries much better than they can. Much better.

I'm just ticked because Kroger stopped carrying paper bags. Bastards. I could pack those suckers.

When you use WalMart + Scan and Go feature in the App as you shop in store it will provide coupons on various items in the form of WalMart cash. If you use the scan and shop or WalMart pick up you will earn your monthly fee back qiuckly. Self check out is painless when you Scan and Go.

It’s a way to get back some of the losses from theft due to the self checkout machines.

Except they aren't free. The costs from your and Cody's shoplifting get passed back to the rest of us.

I can’t stand self check out. The AI security at my local Kroger accuses
me of stealing every time I use it.

A 50% success ratio is poor at best.

Simple: they learned that the increased theft cost more than the decrease in labor costs.

Not only don’t they want to pay an employee to check us out, but they want us to pay them so that we can do it ourselves?

That’s wild considering the ROI on the tech is cheaper than associate labor.

When I need something right now I go to Walmart. But I find their inventory is going to shite and there is a lot of stuff that is order online only. It feels like they are trying to be Amazon. I won’t pay extra for Walmart
Services when I still can use prime.

My first thought is this is bullshite. But actually it would be worth it if removed the hood rats and redneck white trash that shop there.

I saw this at a walmart in colorado recently. The self checkout was for premium members only. Also, they didn't have plastic grocery bags at all. The cashier told me that they used to charge 10 cents per bag but recently stopped offering them completely.
