TIL Walmart has walk-in ovens.

Wonder how that store will assure everyone from here on out that their food has, indeed, not been cross-contaminated with human.

You know during the cremation process there’s an exact point that the meat is cooked just right.

I wouldn't be buying any rotisserie chickens from that Walmart.

Walmart attempted to keep the business open and only shut down the store after authorities forced them to.

I assume it’s a pretty big store… why would they shut down the whole store for an incident in a small part?

Do those things not have an emergency shutoff feature on the inside?

Employee's family is fixing to get paaaaaid.

Not an attorney, but to get paid wouldn't their legal team need to prove some sort of negligence on Walmart first. Sure, they will get this worker's comp death benefits, but I would not automatically assume anyone is getting paid a lot of money unless there is a history of neglect by Walmart and its employees with that oven

Walmart is one of those workplaces that could actually benefit from a union. Just saying.

What on earth does having a union have to do with any of this?

Or a fricking door handle? Why wouldn't it have a way out from the inside? Are you scared the fricking chickens coming back to life?

Employee either wasn't trained or didn't even consider it.

There is no way there isn't a way to get out from the inside.

All I can say is if there is an oven large enough for a person to walk in and be trapped, there should be a large red switch that turns it off and evacuates the heated air. And people should be trained to know that. Walmart has the big pockets but the manufacturer who built it should be put out of business.

The idea is union would likely hold Walmart to a safety mandate for its workers.

Per the attached thread, concerns had been raised in the past about that Walmart.

Listen, I hate 90% of what unions stand for. But I am getting sick of corporations frick over their workers blatantly while racing to the bottom to create the shittiest minimum viable product.

shite, that company in the Caribbean literally told rescue staff they couldn’t try and save workers and one rescuer said frick this and still saved a guy’s life

Why the hell would wal marks need a walk-in oven? In fact, I have never seen a true walk-in oven….
