Most people never thought they would use their old records again. But, according to a report by the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl records are expected to out-sell CDs in 2019.

Many people from various generations visit her store to buy old records, according to the co-owner of Roundabout Music Company.

“Older people, you know, they're like ‘man I used to listen to these when I was a teenager and I can't believe they are coming back.’' Lacy Hale said. "Young kids coming in, they're looking for Pink Floyd or the Beatles.”

Roundabout Music Company opened its doors five years ago.

“I think at the time more of a resurgence was happening,” said Hale.

Hale said she thinks the nostalgic ritual of playing records is what attracts people.

“There's that ritual of taking the record out of the sleeve and putting it on the turntable and you get to see the art,” said Hale.

Many agree that records simply sound better than digital music.

“There's a depth to it. There's also sometimes you get that flat surface noise the pops and cracks,” said Hale.

While vinyls are becoming more popular than CDs, reports say online streaming is still the most popular way people listen to music.

Once young people hear the difference, they're fans.

You can't beat the portability of digital music, but it really does lack depth.

Young or old, people that like music know this.

I don't know there's something about putting a record on versus inserting a CD into a slot.

I startes getting into vinyl 12 or so years ago, buying bulk from garage sales and selling the ones I wasn't interested in.

I should have kept at it, could be sitting on a lot of valuable inventory.

For real though, most stuff isn't worth much because it sold so much back before cassettes and CDs came around.

Considering CD sales have pretty much been replaced by digital sales, I’m not sure this is a huge deal.

They should take care not to let their neckbeard get caught in the turntable.

This isn't a surprice. Vinyl records have become more popular for the past several years. I know a guy who likes the sound of vinyl, he restored an old record player, rebuilt speakers and everything. It sounds really good.

Also record players have become popular with older kids and no one really buys CDs so...

Nah that's too mainstream. It's all about stereoscopic porn from bespoke artisan sources:

Still have a couple hundred records from the 1960's to the 1980's. And yes, I do use them.

Actually records have this popping sound because of the vinyl and to me it sounds a lot better than digital
