Lafayette, Broussard, and Youngsville are where most college graduates who want to stay in the area have moved. Cities like Ville Platte, Jeanerette, Opelousas, Franklin, New Iberia (to some extent), etc. are feeling the effects of this. You’re basically left with a handful of educated people who rule over the rubble and will never leave and a giant welfare underclass.

If so, you do realize not all liberals.. And conservatives are not equal right? The are sub groups.
Your black southern liberal doesn't share the same exact views as your white "we should live in a perfect word" liberal. If you think about the stereotypical black southern liberal, they do have some conservative views because of their religious views.
You can't assume people who you would see as someone on the left or right has the exact views of that side's platform

I didn't realize Evangeline Parish (where VP is located) still has a Police Jury instead of a Parish President. I bet everything in Evangeline Parish is ran on the up and up..

These smaller towns are perfect places for illegal behavior to take place.
Their budget comes from the parish and is usually based on the population of the town/city.. And then the city is responsible for the budgets of the city departments.. Like their police force.
And considering Evangeline is still under a police jury, there is no telling what kind of cluster frick their budget it.. So you have that group that has to approve of a budget, then once it gets to the town/city, they have to approve of the budget so I doubt they put what needs to be top priority as top priority..

I would put money that murder rates Are double compared to most large cities in the state. All you hear about is murders and shootings in Rural towns around Acadiana.

Perhaps a microcosm of Louisiana in general? Substitute for all of Louisiana moving to Dallas and Houston?
