People with means don’t tend to remain living in the vicinity of people who commit crimes and openly deal drugs in the middle of the streets like in Ville Platte. As the elderly died off or moved, their 1940s/1950s era homes became rent houses which brings in more crime and drugs. House by house, then block by block, street by street until it’s entire neighborhoods.
That’s what happens to towns like Ville Platte. Some things get broken beyond repair. VP of the 60s-late 80s is just a memory. VP is now smaller in population than Oakdale.

Someone asked earlier if the crime is really that bad. Well in last 3 months my vehicle, wife's vehicle, and 11 neighbors vehicles were broken into. This was not in the city limits even. One cousin, one close friend, and one neighbor had their vehicles stolen. They used them to commit crimes and then left them bogged, abandoned, and totaled. 2 friends had their houses broken into with the thieves taking all their guns and TV's. One relative's business was robbed 2 times in less than a week. It is that bad. Remember, this is just the stuff that has happened to people close to me in the last 3 months! There is a whole hell of a lot more going on.

It would take me pages to describe the depravities of my little home town as they actually go beyond the town, but i will try to touch on just a lil bit.
VP has many generations of institutionalized welfare recipients that breed like no tomorrow and actually vote. You would be surprised at how many get out of their assisted homes and vote for their living. You would be surprised by the open cash payments to head to the polls on election days. They all vote Democrat and the elected pretend they don't make piles of money off their little communist city limits with all of its dependents. They can't crack down or else they won't get reelected. The mayor ran on getting rid of the cops for Christ sake!
There is the biggest elephant in the room ever on this thread when there shouldn't be one. The black community in my town is at a peak of its degradation. That is the problem and the good ones admit to it. VP probably has close to 90% single parent black households. It is ridiculous. Out of control baby making paid for by government daddy has horrible effects in the long run.
Talk to any public-school teacher here and you will quickly find out how broken homes effects small children! So many have no fathers, family who actually cares, food to eat, or places to sleep. So many are sexually abused or sexually active at 10 to 12 years old it would make your head spin. My wife finally quit the public-school system after being sexually assaulted by students multiple times. She just couldn't handle it anymore. Guns in school, teachers’ vehicles vandalized, black on white hate crimes almost weekly, black kids as young as 12 prison raping white kids in the bathroom. I can go on and on. We paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars out of our own pockets for her student’s school supplies and shoes every year. We brought kids home many times so they wouldn’t be beaten on their walk back. It is absolutely heart breaking what these kids go through. Yet we can't talk openly about the problem. It makes no damn sense. I guess that is the best way to solve problems today. Shut up about it and let it ride.
Doesn't matter though. The towns folk are trying to stage a coup of the city government and start a Parish government as we speak. The business owners and responsible residents have had enough. Even if they are successful and get rid of the mayor and create a parish government it won't fix the moral decay in town, but it may be a start to something better.

Sad part people like her scream for the state to step in. Then they get mad when you patrol with an iron fist.
Yep. If State Police enter your city, they will shut that place down. They're not some bumfrick department, they will wreck your shite like they should.
