The status of that carrier has been publicly known for weeks now, well before that memo. The CPT was fired for sending the memo to members outside of his organization
I didn’t know about it until it was posted to this site a few days ago.

Think about what he is the leader of course they are going to agree with him, but internally they think he is a sniveling little coward.

Well that sure didn't look like a bunch of guys that were worried the hundreds of other people crowded around them had the Virus.

SECNAV doesn't believe he DIRECTLY leaked the letter to the press. However, he did spread that letter liberally around to between 30-40 people,

I’m sorry I know it sucks for him. But he should have known you cannot do something like broadcasting over unsecured channels to dozens of people the fact an American aircraft carrier is out of commission for weeks.
I think he probably did and did it anyway. Again, 2700 sailors are being/have been offloaded from the ship only after he sent the memo.

Hats off to you Captain Crozier and the other leaders in the Military like you. It's a damn shame.
quote:
"I did not come to this decision lightly," he said. "I have no doubt in my mind [Captain] Crozier did what he thought was in the best interest [of] the safety and well being of his crew. Unfortunately, he did the opposite."
"It unnecessarily raised alarms with the families of our sailors and Marines with no plan to address those concerns," Modley continued. "It raised concerns about the operational security and operational capability of that ship that could havequote:
emboldened our adversaries to seek advantage and it undermined the chain of command."
Modly said he didn't mind Crozier raising concerns, but "it was the way in which he did it."
Modly said it "created panic on the ship" and "misrepresented the facts," adding that Americans back home were "panicked."
The man is not fit to be a leader. He failed miserably in a time of crisis. I wouldn't want him leading my team in a time of actual war.

He is the Commander of a United State American Aircraft Carrier. The most potent weapons system on the face of the planet. He should quit acting like a bitch, and let herd immunity run its course. My lord we'd be screwed if a war broke out with this coward commanding. I can see it now "Sir there is a torpedo in the water, OMG OMG OMG what do we do!???""
I love it when shite-brained twatwaffles out themselves unintentionally. .

I am concerned the military has idiots like this guy at the helm of most vessels. That should concern you as an American. The guy had to write a letter couldn't even pick up the phone to call his superiors, and have a normal conversation with them. He's worried about a virus with a minimal death rate, and he has access to all types of medical facilities on board his ship. To cry about a few sailors with a Virus they all would get over in a few days is the epitone of being a weak leader.

I'll be your only upvote as of now. I've never served and if that's your opinion I'll respect it. I think the Captain did what he felt was best for his men. He's no idiot. He's just the next Richard Jewell if I had to guess. fricked over until otherwise proven.
As someone in the same position as you, my guess is that it's entirely possible he acted honorably and compassionately in the eyes of people like us, but also did something that undermines his military role and our security - rendering him no longer capable of leading.

Nothing! The CCP will die either way. We win and hang them all or we lose and nuke their cities. Win-Win for Uncle Sam.

The best officer I ever served under was a farmer from just north of Alexandria. He didn't give a damn what his bosses thought and placed the mission and the welfare of his men on the same plane. I would follow that man into hell with gasoline soaked pants on. That is the EXACT type of leader you want to have in a time of war. Tell me, have you ever been in a war?

Can we just load you into a missile tube and launch you at say, North Korea?
I have a feeling weaponized stupidity might finally turn the tide and the amount flowing in your veins is just the right dosage for a big win.

They would fleet week your arse if you taunted them with this bullshite. They know what he did and why he did it.

I think state actors such as China are probably a little more tuned in to things like this than you TigerFanInSouthland

That was fake news that I posted last night which turned out to be inaccurate. SECNAV doesn't believe he DIRECTLY leaked the letter to the press. However, he did spread that letter liberally around to between 30-40 people, which allowed the letter to eventually end up in the hands of the San Francisco Chronicle. That's why he was fired.
So in other words, your post really wasn't inaccurate was it?

bullshite he was removed the more the facts come out. Crozier emailed the chain of command with several Naval commanders on the email. One of those Naval commanders unbeknownst to Crozier then leaked the email to the media. Crozier is sacked first doing his job.
Trump needs to reinstate the guy today and fire the nitwit who actually leaked the email to the media.
