They did that same thing for Ponamsky when the FBI came for him.

So much for social distancing.

/Sailors complain about spread of disease in tight quarters

/Sailors pack many hundreds of themselves in like sardines to cheer the CO as he leaves

Is it fair to assume this guy tried going up the proper channels and only resorted to less secure communications after someone above him told him to frick off and do his job?

If true, then it is an entirely different situation. I am still waiting for info. on just who allowed the ship to take a port of call in Vietnam in the face of a raging pandemic.

Do you understand what the quarters/work areas are like on an aircraft carrier? There is no social distancing hence the Captain’s concern. Take your red herring and get bent.

Great idea. Let's declare war on the most populous nation on earth. The second largest economy. And a nuclear power. What could possibly go wrong?

What could go wrong already has; you treated a sarcastic post as though it was serious.

It's because he saw them as more than just names on an excel spreadsheet. I'm presently serving in the Navy and at my last command, that's all our leadership seemed to see us as. And I'm not talking about the senior officers. I'm talking about the senior NCOs. The Chief's Mess was absolutely terrible. If we had a problem that needed to be addressed right that second, they didn't care. The mission came first. We had one first class whose wife was laid up in the hospital with a serious case of pneumonia, didn't bother telling him about it, and then got angry with him when he refused to do anything until he was sure his wife was going to be okay.

It’s a lot more fair than most of the things being thrown around in this thread.

he did spread that letter liberally around to between 30-40 people,

This means he did leak it. He may not have leaked it directly but the gross negligence of putting a letter such as that put to so many people means the eventual public publishing of it was a forgone conclusion.

Plausible deniability doesn’t work here.

The reaction some people (blue checks, overall soys, lady boys) have to this shows how truly screwed this country is and how we’d be fricked if we ever had to fight a true global total war again.

There has been a precedent since the very beginning that the CO is ultimately responsible for ANYTHING that involves his ship and crew.

I had an amazing CO get shitcanned bc we were involved in a collision. He was asleep in his stateroom when it happened. He had nothing to do with the events of that night other than being the commanding officer.

That's how its always been and how it will always be.

Meh. I can remember some pretty mediocre football coaches that were worshiped by their players.

Pussy. Hats off? You MUST be joking. This is a great way to totally frick up the chain of command and general reporting. You may applaud this but what about next time when it isn’t something quite as serious? How/where do you draw a line? How and Where does someone else draw the line on this? It can’t be done and you know it. Nip this shite now.

Might seem unrelated but “creep” is why we have 6’4” transgender males standing on the top podium in a women’s athletic event.

This is more than just about 1-2 soldiers not being able to see their sick wives. If you don’t agree, then I’m done here.
