Yeah no shite. Whats this about? You want the company to pay your taxes as well..tell the union to stop giving your money to democrats and your taxes may be lowered.

Then again I don't know what you're trying to say in your post

I'm will to pay 6 dollars a gallon for gas while they train the replacements for these union losers. Im going be laughing my azz off when these spoofers have to get a real job without someone holding their weak hand and tell them when to go to the bathroom.

So what your saying is you are willing to pay $6.00 a gallon for up to 3yrs? Doubtful .. First you have to get the trainees who have the 2 yr degree then it takes on average 2 months for site training then another 6 months just to train on the unit the operator was chosen for before the operator can work by themselves with out help. The trainee still at this point will not understand the complexity of their unit because the operator has only been trained on 1 job. Each unit can have up to 5-6 jobs or as little as 2. So if you do the math 1 new operator to train on all jobs can can be as low as 1 yr 8 months or as high as 3 yrs.and this is best case scenario there are jobs which can take up to a yr to learn.

Why do people like care about what these guys are doing? I'm assuming you're not in the industry. They don't cry when you try to get a raise, why should you?

I feel for the workers who entered a good job, only want to earn a living and be forced to walk due to a lock out.

For those that do not know, if you work for the company at a site such as Motiva NORCO, you do not have to join the union. However, you are "represented" by the union. So even if you do not agree with their policies, beliefs, etc. You are still subject to be locked out should the USW call for a strike. You have no choice but to be represented.

At least that's how it is in Louisiana.

Most index funds and retirement accounts have good weight on O&G stocks. I'd prefer these companies pay market based wages.

Are you arguing for or against these strikes?

Thank you for this comment ! The average new hire process operator makes $27.86 the pay rate I used was a operator with at least 10-15 yrs experience. The only reason people are complaining is because it is on the news and hits the pocket. I don't see people complaining about stock market traders, hedge fund managers, bankers, lawyers who make in the millions.

It is the same here. But remember a " lock out " is the company locks out union a "walk out- strike" the union goes out on their own. But anyone in the hourly position would go out.

People are calling these employees scum bags and this and that because they want better treatment and better pay. I say more power to them. And the people that say "well my retirement is based on the industry their in and if they strike I have to pay more at the pump" were probably the same ones jumping for joy when the oil prices fell and they didn't care about all the workers getting laid off. All they cared about was saving a few bucks at the pump. Well, if you don't care about us losing our jobs, why should we care about your retirement or your savings at the pump? When I consider whether or not I deserve a raise or better treatment at my job, the last thing I'm worried about is how some investor's retirement portfolio might affected. You say I shouldn't have started working in such a volatile industry, I say you shouldn't have invested in such a volatile industry.

So union plant workers are in the same category as the handful of hedge fund managers, bankers, lawyers who make a million plus a year...

your comments hit the nail on the head! I bet if the ones complaining where even in the industry no such comments would be made!
