I posted this in another thread today. YMMV
“ You should be fine. I back fed my whole house with a generac 6500 for 40 days without one single issue. I ran my 2.5 ton ac (set on 70) and everything else in my house except the water heater and stove. I bought a cheap microwave from Walmart instead of using my big built in. Trust me, my family was not being conservative at all with power consumption, we lived like we weren’t on generator power the whole time and never had a problem.”

We’re paying about 360 a square here in lake Charles after Laura.
After Laura I ran my portable generator for 40 days straight, only turning it off to quickly change the oil then turn it right back on.

That’s who we have here in lake Charles and they have been great throughout this whole process after Laura. I’ve been recommending them to anyone who asks.

I’m on Jeff David electric on the Manchester substation and I was told by a buddy who is a lineman that we’re looking at about three weeks. If you’re on entergy then you’re probably a lot sooner.

If you’re in the Manchester area like me, we might be looking at three more weeks.

He probably lost his whirlybirds and had the holes covered like most people. My buddy had his in the threshold of his garage with the exhaust facing out and his co alarms went off. Don’t chance this stuff, this kills multiple people every year. If your worried about rain, find a piece of OSB that got ripped off someone’s roof and put it on top of the generator with something heavy on top to weigh it down.
I’ve lost some meat on my fingers to the table saw and miter saw. All avoidable and while I was doing sketchy stuff. Thankfully they all healed and I upgraded to a saw stop since my fingers are worth more than a few thousand dollars.
Freud makes a rabetting bit for your router that comes with different size bearings for different size rabets. No straight edges necessary, the bearing takes all the guess work out. You’ll need a chisel to square up the corners though since they’ll be round

Prayers to you and your family.
Probably a leaking shower pan which like you said will require all the tile to be torn and a new pan installed and re tiled. Good luck.
Facebook has a few groups that could help you. One that comes to mind is “unplugged woodworkers”. Those guys are more collectors than actual woodworkers.

Minwax wipe on poly is fool proof. Also arm r seal as mentioned above but minwax is available in stores. Just make sure it the wipe on version and do some test pieces. And as far as water based poly, I only recommend that on stained or painted pieces because on natural wood it doesn’t bring out the color like an oil based does.

Where abouts are you located ?
I had the same issue. I snaked it and all appeared to be fine but it would still over flow. I even stuck a water hose down it with the water wide open and that wouldn’t over flow it but the washer would. I finally called a plumber and he had a snake with a different type of tip that was able to clean the clog out and all was good after that.
Not sure, I live in lake Charles.
