I think people only work for USPS if they can't score a gig at the DMV.

The issue seems isolated to the distribution facility in Baton Rouge. I think it's in West Baton Rouge parish.
I currently have two packages that are tied up with them. One got sent back to the sender and is being rerouted back. The other is just at their facility for the past week with no movement.
I normally don't have issues with USPS and think they get a bad rap but something is definitely up right now.

I have to agree about the state of the USPS. I had a 2-day package delivered yesterday. It took 8 days.

Amazon used USPS to deliver a package that never showed up. Now sent a replacement ups and tracking hasn't been updated for two days.

If the post office was killing it, we’d notice if we didn’t get our mail in ballots. Since they’re not, if we don’t get them, people will just explain it away when it might well be happening deliberately.

Last three things I've ordered and that got shipped via USPS were 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 weeks past the estimated receive date. The current package I was supposed to get July 31st and still don't have it. It's in baton rouge for the last 3 days but tracking still not moving.

Every time I see an item is being shipped USPS I just prepare for a lengthy wait.

It must be. Like I said, I ship a lot of packages. 21 today via USPS Priority mail. I have had zero issues with them lately. BUsiness as usual.
I have used all the shipping methods and since most of our packages are very heavy, the USPS Flat Rate boxes are golden for us.

It all coincides with the new PMG who clearly stated the new policies would slow down mail. It has impacted some distribution/sort centers more than others.

It really is messed up. I’ve had a number of issues with the mail recently that I’d rarely had before. Thanks trump.

Interesting. I had the same situation with a third party seller through Amazon and thought I was being scammed.
I never got the item, but got the A-to-z refund. Based upon this I've decided to give the seller the benefit of the doubt and removed the negative feedback.
Will be interesting to see if the package shows up. I generally find USPS to be reliable but now I wonder.

the problem with the USPS, is one that has been around for years. legislation was passed in 2006 under Bush that really fricked them over:
prior to 2006 they were doing ok, not great, but they were turning a profit - below is earnings each fiscal year since 2001:
several attempts were made to change the legislature passed in 2006, but each time it is skipped over and left in place. the USPS was put in a rally bad spot by the government.

Between 2007 and 2016, the USPS lost $62.4 billion; the inspector general of the USPS estimated that $54.8 billion of that was due to prefunding retiree benefits.[9] By the end of 2019, the USPS had $160.9 billion in debt, due to growth of the Internet, the Great Recession, and prepaying for employee benefits as stipulated in PAEA.[10] Mail volume decreased from 97 billion to 68 billion items from 2006 to 2012. The employee benefits cost the USPS about $5.5 billion per year;[11] USPS began defaulting on this payment in 2012.[9] The COVID-19 pandemic further reduced income due to decreased demand in 2020.[10]

I’m glad people are catching on to this.
I’ve always had great service & very minimal, if any, issues with USPS in BR. My mail carriers have always been wonderful as well. Even during the lockdown with everyone basically sitting at home ordering shite, I never had delays.
In the last 2 months there’s been noticeable delays. I started doing some digging and found all the info on Louis DeJoy and was shocked that more people weren’t talking about it. Besides his investments being a conflict of interest, there’s a deliberate attempt to not only sabotage mail service but to also make retards turn against USPS.
