Trump kind of admitted it today that he is intentionally slowing down the mail

No money means no mail in ballots

quote:

They need that money in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” Trump said on Fox Business Thursday morning of the states that are implementing universal mail-in voting ahead of the November election. “But if they don’t get those two items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting, because they’re not equipped to have it.”

The only idea worse than mail in voting is voting online.

And only just slightly.

Now? They have always been terrible. But they may be worse right now because the media is pushing that Trump is ruining the USPS to not have mail in votes.

Despite the fact that numerous states have been doing mail-in voting for years with minimal problems.

If that's not the case, what is really happening then?

They have picked up the same mantra as countless others:

Due to COVID we have found an excuse to offer a substandard level of service.

There were plenty of people near me who have been having mail delayed days/weeks or not delivered at all for much longer than COVID.

USPS never managed to get it completely fixed then; this is not a new experience for some people.

They are awful where I live. I’ve even reached out to some places and asked if I could pay additional and opt to NOT have USPS as the only means to receive whatever I’m purchasing.

FedEx is struggling too. Most of their drivers are marking items as “delivered” when they really are not. This caused a package sent with ice packing to melt and ruin the meals inside. Looks like I will need to go back to regular meal prepping for the foreseeable future.

My Mom really appreciates her medicine being late.

Acting like the post office isn’t useful is naive. Especially when it comes to mail delivery in rural areas that privatized services won’t go, medication, certified mail, etc.

This. USPS is abysmal, but what do you expect with government work? FedEx is following the USPS model right now. I'm waiting on my contractor to replace a window in my house that was the wrong tint. This is the 2nd time he's ordered it because the first time, it disappeared in FedEx hell and Fedex couldn't tell him where it was. This 2nd window was ordered over a month ago. Still no updates.

UPS is the only ones worth a shite right now. Had a guy come to the office in a budget rental truck and was delivering packages. They are adapting to problems, whereas USPS is the cause of the issues, and FedEx has no idea what is going on anymore.

Just looking at absentee ballots, roughly 21% of ballots don't get counted. MIT studied the 2008 presidential election. That is a big issue.

They studied the NY primary election and found roughly the same % didn't get counted.

Let's also not gloss over that it took those states years to even come close to being able to say they have "minimal problems". If anyone seriously believes that mail in voting is possible for this election, you are just lying to yourself.

Also, there is a big difference in florida's style of mail in voting for example, and what is being demanded for this election.

So are you mad at the media for reporting what Trump said verbatim?

Are you mad at the media for doing their research and reporting it?

What narrative is he pushing? He's just stating what the media is doing. I mean it's all over most major media outlets.
