If FIFA keeps their word and the womens world cup prize pool is the same as the mens then this deal may benefit the men as opposed to the women.
Im still not convinced FIFA will meet that "goal" though.
Even if the prize money is close, if the women make it further the men could benefit. There are less teams in the womens tourney so a smaller pool could still provide a similar payout based off finishing position

Most of the men have contracts so big with their clubs -- not including endorsements -- they could wipe their arse with their portion of the 12M payout after coaches, staff, etc get theirs.

FIFA set a goal for the prize pool for the women's world cup in 2027 to match the mens from 2026.
I doubt it will happen but they have made a lot of money off this world cup so they could definitely afford it.

TIL that the US women's soccer team has even won 1 World Cup, let alone 4 World Cups.
That shows how little value the women's soccer team has. I had no idea about how well they had done over the years. And now that I do know about how well the women's team has done, I don't care in the least about it.
