When they last won in 2019 FIFA paid them $4MM. They should sue the general public for not caring enough to allow FIFA/networks to demand more from advertisers.

Not to be that guy but actually soccer in many countries is far more capitalist than US sports due to the system of relegation and promotion where every year the bottom teams are relegated to the lower league and the top teams are promoted to the higher league. As you are probably aware no such system exists in American and in fact many teams structure their business model on being perpetual basement dwellers subsiding, not on success, but on profit sharing agreements and selling top draft picks they are gifted by virtue of finishing near the bottom.

Most of the men have contracts so big with their clubs -- not including endorsements -- they could wipe their arse with their portion of the 12M payout after coaches, staff, etc get theirs.

The men would have to be elite to get those contracts and they’re clearly not

That shows how little value the women's soccer team has. I had no idea about how well they had done over the years. And now that I do know about how well the women's team has done, I don't care in the least about it.

‘99 Women’s World Cup (Brandi Chastain) was a bigger deal than anything the men have ever done

Christian Pulisic makes almost $30MM per year total compensation and I think Westin McKinney isn’t too far behind him.

Balogun makes almost $4MM

Probably a sharp drop off after that

You do realize the players can decide whether or not they want to move to the new club, right?

Pulisic 7.6M/yr
Mckennie 7M/yr
Weah (who played in one game) 6M/yr
Tillman 5.5M/yr
Adams 5.5M/yr
Richards 5M/yr
Cardoso (didn't play) 4.9/yr
Dest 4.6M/yr
Balogun 3.7M/yr

Were you under the impression that the men weren't stars and getting paid as stars in their respective leagues?

I wonder what the wives of the UD Men players feel about the US Women literally taking money away from them?

She hit a PK and took off her shirt.

Tillman did that twice this tournament -- well he kept his clothes on.

Especially since none of them have ever publicly acknowledged the sacrifice of shown any gratitude. It always just more contempt and covetousness.

I’ve never cheered against the US, but I cheered hard against that team of America hating dykes.

Glad they lost then. People not even on the women's team are going to get $200+k for doing absolutely nothing. frickin' soccer. Figures.

The Men’s NBA salaries should split with the Women’s NBA. Let’s see how that works out.

If it wasn’t for the NBA the WNBA wouldn’t still be around. ESPN/ABC has it now and thats why ESPN acts like the average American male has a hard on for below average basketball with a bunch of spiteful and petty women. It’s nothing more than a version of the Real Housewives.

When I found out how they iced out the best keeper (female) in Hope Solo the US has ever produced because she wouldn't scissor with them, I lost all respect for them.

Starting Brianna Scurry over her was a travesty.

I'm exaggerating a little bit, but essentially, she wasn't part of the lesbian mafia of Wambach and Rapinoe and kind of got pushed to the side. She was a strictly dickly conservative woman with a big mouth, and that didn't fit the team "culture". Even though she was the best keeper in the world by a wide margin, she got benched in 07 for Brianna Scurry against Brazil. They lost 4-0. She was very vocal about being benched.

Her story is an very interesting one. There is a documentary on Netflix about her. I think it's Untold: Hope Solo.

Basically, she had a very rough childhood. She was scouted by everyone and would have gone to North Carolina but stayed in Washington because her Dad was homeless and she wanted him to be able to see her play. In high school, he would watch her games from the tree line next to the field because he didn't want to embarrass her.

Those guys are barely making Jose Alvarado money

Pulisic makes 3% of what CR7 makes

Ronaldo is your benchmark? The #2 player in the world that gets paid to suck off Saudi princes?

No shite he makes more. But don't act like an extra $150K is a big deal to guys whose base compensation -- not including endorsements and bonuses -- is $5M+ a year.
