It depends on the country. The WBNA has never turned a profit Yes, there are female BB leagues in Turkey, etc.
Let's add on to the excuses to why we can't advance. Nobody knows anyone on the Man City or Liverpool Women's team that starts unless they are related to them. But for sure, let's make sure dudes in the Bundesliga, EPL, or La Liga take a pay cut for women who generate 90% less revenue.

Perhaps they should play each other - double or nothing.

Scramble another battalion of federal agents, round up the usual suspects, and exile them all.

Based on the anticipated 2027 payouts for the Women's World Cup, which will be the same amount of prize money as the men's, the US women's team will likely earn more than the men just diid based on probably advancing further and have to share that with the men

Soccer is a communist sport.
There is no salary cap. Teams are free to buy and sell any player they like.
The sport really is wide open.
Compare that to American sports model where the league is closed and all owners work together, there is a salary cap put on teams, a cap on how much players can make, the worst teams are rewarded with higher draft pick odds and the best teams pick last, and successful teams have to share revenue with less successful teams.
I’m American through and through, but if I’m being honest, the American sports system is way more communist than the European model.

It's like how college football pays for women's sports.

FIFA set a goal for the prize pool for the women's world cup in 2027 to match the mens from 2026.
IF they are serious about this then the best path forward is just to permanently host the womens WC in the USA.

I remember how stupid this was the agreement happened a few years ago. And I remember a lot of the men on the team coming out in full support of it too, which was hilarious. And not in a "gun to your head" sort of way...IIRC they seemed to legitimately support it and think it was "fair."
It's totally ridiculous and I completely disagree with it in principle, but the men apparently agreed to it so I actually don't have a problem with it. Although if I was on the team I'd be pushing to renegotiate as soon as possible. That's a LOT of money missing from your check that you actually legitimately earned (unlike the women).

Blame the men. They voted for it.
Well they are proud and loud about it, soooo not surprising…

It still pisses me off more than it should that the cucks at us soccer basically gave in to public pressure even though the women had no legal standing.
Let’s say they did have legal standing to overturn a contract based solely on feelings
In their arguments they used a 7 year period which included 1 men’s World Cup and 2 women’s world cups (the men’s being the one that USA missed.) In that arbitrary period the women made slightly more
However, if you expand that 7 year period by 1 year in either direction, the men made significantly more. Totally disingenuous that the public bought

Its not though. They get the same cut of the women's world cup next year.
FIFA has set a goal to make the prize pools equal for men and women's tournaments and the womens path is easier to winning the whole thing

So they'll get the same amount of money from the women? I haven't researched that, but does the women WC draw the same viewers and money as the men? I've seen posts in here that say otherwise.

No, but FIFA has the cash reserves that they can make the prize pool the same anyway.
This world cup has generated $10+ billion. The prize pool is $871 million.
FIFA holds a robust safety net with over $1 billion in direct cash and cash equivalents, and strategic reserves of nearly $2.7 billion.
Making the prize pool equal for 2027 was the stated goal. I do think it will be smaller but the womens cup has 33% less teams as well.

The women, though bring home the hardware in soccer. The men have the "potential" and seem to have had the "potential" for 30 years.
Basketball is different. The men deliver....as do the women, but the men do it consistently and have done it consistently.
Until the men are bringing home the championships or at least start competing and getting to the semifinals on a consistent basis the women have at least some argument. Men are getting the exposure but at crunch time they fail.
Plus, no one involved is really complaining

So your argument is that the only way the men will get an equal share from the women is if FIFA comes out of their own reserves to pay players because the women don't generate enough revenue. Is that what I'm gathering from what you're saying?
You don't see any issue with that from a fairness or "equality" standpoint?
