This is what the "equality" crusaders can never comprehend. Or, more likely, disingenuously ignore this reality.

It's like arguing the CEO of a local hardware store company with 3 locations in Ascension Parish that generates $1.5M in revenue annually should earn the same salary as the CEO of Home Depot which has 2,300 stores and generates $160 Billion in revenue annually simply because they have the same general job title...CEO

Principles. Logic. Reason. Things we should cherish.

Also, plenty of people take money out of my pocket. But this might be even more blatant and ridiculous than a 36% tax rate.

It's comical.

Plus the men agreed to it.

With a proverbial gun to their head, yes. Sure. If you're ok with people bullying others into submission, sure.

The reasoning for this makes absolutely no sense.

OK but USSF doesn't have their hand in your pocket so wtf you care. Just like to complain about the unfairness of the world?

Are you the guy that would bitch about your brother having one more corn flake?

Does it really count as choking if they weren't expected to go that far, maybe to the semifinals, anyway?

Because it was social pressure that created this situation. Social pressure that ends up moving and expanding anywhere certain people want it to, whether or not you want it.

We should all defend appropriate views on value, earnings, pay, taxes, and how these things are discussed, determined, and how organizations let social pressure influence decision making.

You think this, yet I want someone to get a nice pay day for 3.5 weeks of work, more than I probably ever will for the same amount of work? Yeah, jealousy is definitely my driver here.

If the players love it, great. More power to them.

I also think a reasonable person can look at it and say, “that’s an incredibly shitty deal for the men.”

I liked Carli Lloyd and Mallory Pugh's comments on Pulisic "rest" statement

However I really wish anybody would STFU about the USWNT, they have nothing to do with this.
Reality is, USWNT got a head start on the rest of the world and had unfair advantages. Eventually the world caught up and we've since adjusted.
USMNT got a late start in soccer and as we can see still has a ways to go to catch up for many reasons.
Then they had the equal pay BS at the height of cancel culture and Rapinoe's stupid arse that didn't deserve the Golden Ball.

It doesn't make sense to compare the two but some always will.

total of 42 million people watched it live as it happened, rivaling NFL playoff ratings. Why should the women get a share in any of that shite?

Well the payout is based on performance not ratings from one game

I don't get the impression the OP is complaining about the "unfairness" of the deal. Obviously, the men's and women's teams agreed to it. It's more a commentary on the absurdity of the logic "supporting" the demand for equal pay. The men's WC and the men's team generate SIGNIFICANTLY more revenue than the women's WC and women's team simply because there is higher market demand for the men's game. That's not sexism. That's business.

You see a similar argument with the WNBA and NBA. Both the men and women technically have the same job...professional basketball player. However, the WNBA generates a few hundred million in revenue while the NBA generates over $10 Billion in revenue. Same type of business. But one is FAR more profitable.

Maybe. I saw some quotes from the men in support of it, at least publicly.

It also raised their floor compensation and provided them with childcare at training camp.

Ultimately if they voted for it - even if under “fear” of backlash - they supported it. If they don’t care enough to do something about the shitty deal, then I’m certainly not gonna waste energy being mad on their behalf

Pretty good payday for 3.5 weeks of work no matter how you slice it. 681K if they don't share....363K if they do.
A little bit more goes into it. They don’t just show up when the tournament starts.

It’s a 2-4 year process and commitment for everyone.

Probably feared the consequences of not voting for it. IIRC, this was done at the height of “cancel culture.”

Nah. A lot of em are just pussies. They all signed a letter to congress demanding more gun control or some shite after one of the school shootings a few years ago.

I’m a US soccer fan but we have a lot of entitled brats on our squad and they play like it. We need to clean house with the exception of a few.

Guys like McKennie, Tillman Cardoso and Pulisic are making upwards of 4.5 million a year playing in Europe.....Pulisic also has multi million dollar endorsement deals. I suspect they ain't complaining....especially after their performance onthe pitch Monday night

You can put chocolate syrup and sprinkles on a pile of dog shite, but it’s still dog shite. That type of thinking is what helped lead the world to the lack of common sense.
