And why Arlington Texas is on this list. I have no idea. I will say cost of living is cheap to live in Arlington and there’s no income state tax, but you might get murdered

I live in N. Arlington and it isn't bad. You have the Rangers and Cowboys here along with a growing entertainment district. Also, you can get to Dallas or Ft Worth in 30 mins or less outside of rush hours. All urban areas deal with some level of crime.

Pearland and League City ? Yeah, if you speak Spanish. Sugarland? Only if you live south of the SW Freeway

Some of those places are certainly questionable. And Mountain Brook is nice. It’s great you’ve been able to keep it that way.

I'm kinda surprised Prairieville isn't on the list and Metairie is.

Anybody else?

Mandeville should be the only Louisiana city on the list.

Is that a thing? Only Indians in Sugerland? I’m honestly asking and don’t know. Every time I’ve been there, it’s a ton of rich white people.

Good catch. I don't know why I didn't think of Mandeville.

We’ve looked several times at moving here. I would agree with that; that whole area is great. It just never made sense for us to make the move from Southlake.

League city and Pearland ahead of the woodlands is ridiculous. The list reeks of bullshite.

Anyone with even a superficial awareness of many of these places knows it’s an absolute mess of a list.

Huntsville AL was in the Top 5 for years, even No. 1 or 2 a couple of times. It’s still a great medium sized city. Three of my four kids live there. Not sure what made it drop. Maybe the criteria or ranking formula changed. It’s definitely growing and maybe infrastructure, traffic, etc., has deteriorated. It surpassed Birmingham as the largest metro area in the state a few years ago. Top 85 in America is still pretty good.

Still has a way to go to catch Birmingham in MSA size. Birmingham is more than 2X the size of Huntsville MSA - you have to remember that Hoover alone is damn near the size of Huntsville proper.

Huntsville’s growth has been very impressive, but it will be 30 - 50 years, if ever, before it surpasses Birmingham in metro area population.

Decatur, AL making this list makes this list complete bullshite. Decatur is an absolute dump. Nothing nice about it.
