I still mow my lawn even though everyone else in my neighborhood just pays someone else to do it

She ran the playbook to get her name out there on the MAGA speaking circuit. She is correct on the trans issues though. You have to be completely disconnected from reality to support that trans garbage in sports.

No. They should not have a NBA team either

re: I don’t understand gambling

I understand the appeal sports gambling or games of skill (poker, blackjack etc.). It is the people buying lottery tickets every week and scratch offs that confuses me. That is literally pissing money down the drain.

We’ve looked several times at moving here. I would agree with that; that whole area is great. It just never made sense for us to make the move from Southlake.

I really enjoyed the premise. It was a dumb action comedy in the best sense of that. It was a fun movie.
And Jack Nicholson’s kid was really good as the main bad guy.

re: Dallas is the worst city in Texas

DFW is a huge area. Each area has its own subpckets of things to do/vibe. I live in Soutlake and the culture is golf country club douche for example.

Took my son to the game. It was fricking awesome. That kid is a Stars fan for life. I am now a Stars fan too. Long way for a poor kid from NOLA.
re: Why isn't DFW expanding much to the south

Already touched upon…demographics and corporate HQ up north of I-30. Even places that are genuine farm country like Argyle, Ponder or Northlake are exploding with growth.
re: Do You Have An “Elevator Speech”?
Posted by CunningLinguist on 5/15/25 at 7:56 am
Yes. One of the hardest things to do is sell an idea or concept quickly and clearly to an audience that does not necessarily have a lot of background on something. The best leaders in my company are best as these short type of speeches.
re: Anyone else in the middle of Maycember?
Posted by CunningLinguist on 5/12/25 at 9:59 am
Yes. Two kids with full soccer obligations, Mother’s Day, anniversary, work travel etc. It eases up after Memorial Day weekend when the soccer goes back to open tryouts for the older club kid and no soccer for the younger rec league kid. Work dies down to in June.
re: According to Zillow, there are 800 homes for sale in Prosper, TX

Prosper and Celina are the biggest growth area of DFW. Not a surprise there. Probably new builds
re: We have a New Pope - USA - Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV

I know nothing about this guy but I hate it already. The American Catholic Church is leading the world in hiding the pedophiles and helping predators avoid justice. This guy will be part of the American efforts to continue to allow the Catholic Church to avoid accountability for the vast pedorastry of the priesthood.

10 years ago…sure. I moved here for work. Met a Texas girl, marriage with kids etc. We have rental assets and a house that is almost paid off in a very nice part of DFW. We are “pot committed” to use a poker term for staying in the state
Texas is such a broad state everyone can find what they are looking for. It is not a great outdoor state like say TN or FL. There is a good business environment and the schools for now are still strong in our ISD.
And thank god this state is not heavily Catholic. That is a huge upside in my book

That is an awesome last name even for the pedo-defenders crew.

That seems right of central casting for the stereotypical barista. Wow. He/she/whatever is too fat to see their own dick as well.
re: What do modern women bring to a relationships with men?
Posted by CunningLinguist on 4/30/25 at 9:18 am
Marriage is awesome. It has made my life better in every single way possible.
We also get out what we put into our marriage. We both exercise, take time for ourselves as a couple, clearly communicate, take the time to be intentional with our time with kids etc. That all takes discipline .
A lot of the people who are bagging on marriage are either making no effort, gave up or have made horrible choices leading up to where they are (putting up with bullshite early in a relationship).
