Well everyone in here is saying that pay sucks, so did the union actually help them?
Damn right they did. They get paid well for their work, and they earn it.

At least the union employees have a pension. UPS got rid of pensions entirely for non-union employees.

Is that a bad thing? There should be real benefits to union participation.

Are you mad that unions spend money to influence politics, or are you mad that unions spend money to influence democrats?
I'm not mad either way, because I don't belong to a union. Thought I'd be pissed if I was forced to pay part of my salary to an organization that bankrolls the Joe Bidens of the country.

You're not.

the number of selfish and/or deeply ignorant assholes in this thread is astounding, even for td
every legal protection for workers in existence was paid for in blood - and it was almost always the blood of union workers.

UPS does NOT drug screen employees... The feeder drivers who have CDLs have to be drug-free. That's it... Including management.

Probably still be cheaper than fedex.

Yeah let’s put faith and trust in the government.

UPS prices about to go up
they will use this as an excuse to raise prices for sure, just like "inflation" this past year. they did studies and corporations raised prices much more than costs went up due to the easy inflation scapegoat.

Jesus.
Do you understand anything about business the past 200 years?

I've got no problem with folks trying to make a better live for themselves and their family. This helps that. Why shouldnI care about the top brass getting record profits?

They will push the cost increase to me and I’ll do the same to the customer.

Costs go up. Margins are based on costs. Profits go up based on margins.
And some ignore the simple mechanics of business and go straight to greedy executives/shareholders.

Behind the scenes: Union capos and UPS upper crust get lump sums in this agreement with deal pushed by the administration. No way Brandon would allow the biggest setback to economy since covid. No way. Deals were made. It just gets passed on to the consumers but saves face of democrats.
Posted on 7/26/23 at 7:50 am to Picayuner
I wonder how much the teamsters brass made off of this deal.

Our local tractor-trailer “feeder” drivers average $162,000 per year in total compensation, which includes $0 healthcare premiums, paid time off for vacations, holidays, sick leave and option days. UPS also makes contributions to a defined-benefit pension plan for each employee.
