I think so too, which is probably why they didn’t arrest her on the spot. There’s something fishy going on and they want to get their ducks in a row first.

Why are ppl saying what might happen? We are talking about what has already happened, yet your reply is what might happen.

We can talk about both, but it seems strange to keep replying about the possible future when we are talking about past tense of what has happened to this cop vs what would have already happened to avg joe.

I'll make a prediction... it will come out in the near future that the officer and this guy had some sorta past relationship and she was pissed off because of that so she made up this story to make it look like a "accident"

This makes no sense. How does this escalate into a shooting? Shouldn't there be a "WTF" moment for both people, followed by some sort of back and forth that would lead to an epiphany for both? Did this bitch walk in, see the guy, and immediately blast him? It's the only somewhat believable story.

If she was just a regular citizen, this would have ended in awkward laughs and profuse apologies by the "intruder." Possibly some spontaneous neighbor sex if they are both attractive.

Kind of like hypothesizing about “what would” happen if it was an average person?

You speak in absolute about that but call bullshite about what may happen to her tomorrow.

I think she’s wrong on the surface, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

People are saying they haven’t even questioned her yet.

Was the apartment decorated identically to hers? It’s either that or she was high AF.

Even if you could somehow walk up to the wrong apartment and get into it without noticing it wasn’t yours, no way a sober, sane person walks in, sees someone else’s couches, tvs, pictures/art and still thinks they’re home.

If this was a construction site and some sort of fatal accident happened she would have been piss tested on the spot, same if she was a CDL holder. I find the above amazing if true.

They are held to a lower standard than an ordinary citizen.

Unlikely. And they didn't arrest her so they didn't check her blood.

Now y’all are just talking out your arse. You don’t know what has or hasn’t been done. You realize that they have strict protocols for officer involved shootings and those usually include a breath and / or blood test. You don’t have to be under arrest for that. People shoot and kill people all the time and don’t get arrested immediately. Granted those are generally clear cut self defense situations but don’t act like letting the DA review the case prior to Grand Jury and an arrest is unprecedented. I think this situation is 100% fricked up but the OT acting like this has never happened before to anyone is disingenuous at best.

How do you just walk into the wrong apartment? There are these things called "keys".

I've walked in the wrong condo before. On my phone, hit the 2 instead of the 4 on the elevator. Walk into the second door on the left. Not paying attention and for some reason tried the door with my keys in my hand. She was really nice about it. We were both kind of in shock trying to figure out what was happening for a second.

Having gone through that, the cop pulling her gun and shooting in that situation needs to do jail time and lose her job

So they have not spoken to her, but know all this?

quote:

Dallas Sgt. Warren Mitchell said the officer was heading home after working a full shift when she walked into an apartment unit she believed was her own.

After entering the unit, she was confronted by a 26-year-old man, identified by the medical examiner's office as Botham Shem Jean. At some point, the officer fired her weapon, hitting him, police said.

This woman was either drunk/high, or she knew this guy and it was premeditated. Possibly both. I think people saying she'll get off are being a bit too cynical. There is no way she isn't charged with something.
